i hate how people get so infatuated with someone. that show tmz is a waste of time. it just makes all Americans look so stupid. i really don't give a shit what britny spears does in her life.

I'm almost getting the idea that US of America is just as bad as a certain third world country

The shows are just like in "Ye Olden Days" Where regular people would hear about one missfortune from some noble and go ape shit about it

Its like it gives people who arent as famous or rich or w/e a feeling of satisfaction about having their idols showing human traits

well the opinions that you see on the media are influenced by the pubilc opinion. and paradoxily public opinion is influenced by the media.
The media is simply doing what they've always done, telling people waht they want to hear. it's impossible to get an unbaised opinion

This really just shows how much fucking racism is still left in this world. I'm personally against all forms of racism, mainly by how I was raised (I think I read my first biography of Hitler and what he had done when I was like 6...or 7). To see that the white ass bastards got away with doing something like that really pisses me off. Oh yeah, I'm white by the way. (Well technically I'm Scottish, Irish, German, British, Mexican, Indian-though most Mexicans have Indian roots I got mine from a different branch of the family; .00009% Japanese<- it might be lower...I'm not entirely sure, and a touch of African....my family got around....so you can call me more of a mutt than a whitey...though I have pale skin TT__TT)
So racism like that makes meh want to bash some heads in. The black kids should be charged with something way less than aggravated assault. Something like (totally making this up), provoked violence as a misdemeanor.

i am sick of celebrities, you can't go anywhere without hearing about them. whenever they do something wrong, its on the news (and that happens alot because most celebs are douchebags). If one of the dies, they're treated like a saint. For christ sake, anna nicole's death got more hype than the death of the leader of Al Qaeda, wtf? our world seriously needs to get our priorities straight, because the way we're heading is absolutely ridiculous

Who cares? That whore being thrown in jail for drink driving got more air time than any other much more tragic/interesting/usful television show. That's pretty much plain wrong. I think that everyone should just ignore them or find something else to talk about.

I think it was Mark Twain who once said "If you don't read the paper, you are uninformed. If you do read the paper, you are Misinformed". News reporters are not stupid they're going to write stuff that is going sell papers. They do not care if it's the full story, as long as it sells.

The same goes for celebrities, they sell papers and magazines. A lot of Americans could tell you what movie actor slept with who three days ago but could not find Austria on a map.

It's kind of sad to view the average American as a person who believes in everything they read/see and follow around celebrities as if they had some kind of aura. But it would not be far from the truth.

Celebrities are here to entertain us. They shouldn't be treated as gods.

I think that not only are they over rated, they are also over paid.
Take football (or Soccer in US) for example. They players get like millions of pounds to play.
And these days, the word 'celebrity' isn't what it ment say 50 years ago.
Back then, if someone was a celebrity, it was becuase they were talented, stars like The Beetles and Elvis are examples (once again, like 50 years ago) These days, anyone who gets out of the Big Brother house is deemed as a 'celebrity' just for living in a house for a couple of weeks. And of course, the magazines drag it out with stuff like 'Kerry reveals all from inside the house'

personally, i think it's our own fault celebrities have reached the status that they've reached. if we didn't deify them and hold them up so much higher above ourselves, they wouldn't grow their abnormal, over-sized egos. they start to believe in their own sense of immortality because whatever they do, they realize we'll always care and that attention = money.

they're not anything special. if you really think about it, they're just glorified liars and attention whores. and the american and international public loves them for it. women orgasm at the sight of brad pitt and people everywhere follow britney spears' every waking moment. sites like tmz only perpetuate and feed the national obsession people have. it really pisses me off that in news britney spears and and that fat chick with giant boobs who married that old rich dude share the headlines with school shootings and the iraq war.

some people would say the same about athletes and sports stars but, at least, athletes have honest to God talent. you know, memorizing a script and pretending to have false feelings is not the same as hitting a small, leather ball coming at you at 98 mph, 450 feet. being able to run the 40 yard dash in 4.5 seconds is not the same as being able to have sex on video that's accidentally released.

since we made them stars, we can unmake them and something should happen for the rest of us to realize that. we should enforce that if you're hot and your name is jessica alba, the only way you'll stay famous is if you get naked. we should enforce that we don't care if you think we should all follow in your footsteps and buy new, hybrid cars we can't afford while you still fly around the world in your public jet wasting more fuel in one flight than we do in a year. we should be the preeminent voice in whether a celebrity is a celebrity. and they shouldn't get paid more than us.

i fucking hate celebrities.
