It seems like the computer we have, the rockets we use, the nukes we launch, and the laundry machines we clean with are what makes us an advanced society.
But is it possible for us to still be advanced, if all the technology in the world were to disappear?
The Mayans were incredibly advanced for their time (I think), but that's not what I'm talking about. I mean, right now, if guns didn't exist, computer didn't work, basically, picture a worldwide EMP going off, and lasting forever. Would we be able to adapt?
it depends. Countries like Canada (unfortunately ;)) the US, Japan, and many up and coming countries like India and China, etc. would be absolutely helpless because we have been using such technology for so long we have forgotten and lost the ability to function without them. so we would be absolutely helpless. but there are still countries in the world that have absolutely no technology and they survive as well as we do.
and yes the mayans were extremely advanced. they figured out the exact amount of days in a year to 1/7th of a minute just by looking at the stars :P
