I'd never heard of that specifically before, but you could be right. I think its fairly well accepted that men and women have different sorts of intelligence, but I've heard lots of variations when it comes to the specifics. I certainly wouldn't claim this as a fact, but men tend to be more specialized and narrow minded - which has both pros and cons. I think women have an easier time thinking outside the box, but sometimes have more trouble grasping complex concepts.
We're sort of on a tangent though. On the topic at hand? Women have difficulties of their own on the internet, as someone mentioned above. There are lots of 'men' who will readily and openly provide special treatment, but lets be honnest... guys like that have no self respect. Its the type of attention girls aren't likely to want anyway. They also tend to be teenagers rather than adults, which makes the attention probably more annoying considering the average age of female users is considerably higher than that for men.
Of course older and more mature men - who actually have a sense of dignity - will provide women with special treatment too. But they will be more subtle about it, and again lets be honnest, that isn't necessarly limited to the internet.
Beyond that there is perhaps one more catagory, which would include men who treat women on the internet badly, either because it bothers them that other men give women special treatment, or because they don't like women in general (I would imagine there aren't a whole lot of these).
I think both of the last two groups, and especially the last one, tend to be cautious about believing a particular person on the internet really is female. People in the last catagory will also sometimes keep pretending women are men, even after there is no reasonable doubt.
All things considered I think women tend towards the "having it harder" on the internet. Of all the catagorys I outlined above, the only one they might get favorable attention from is the second anyway - and again, that isn't necessarly limited to the internet.
As an after thought, I've always thought that it was funny how guys ingeneral will assume that every girl on the internet is attractive. If a girl gets past the first barrier and mannages to convice them that she really is female, guys somehow jump straight to the conclusion that she is also hot.

Mm, I have to agree with that. I'm good at games like baseball. I used to play catch with my brother all the time. He'd purposely make me have to catch balls from high in the air so I wouldn't be scared of it.
But games like Frisbee... I can't even throw the damned thing let alone figure out where it's gonna end up.
I don't know what game you guys are talking about, but some games I've been better at then others.
The only MMORPG I got -really- good at was Ragnarok Online, I was able to make pretty good characters and pack a punch in WoE.
WoW - I couldn't fully get into, I like the quests, but I found anyone I talked to was really mean. Maybe because I wasn't an attractive female player. I was a female tauren.
Shooter games - things like Halo, I became uninterested after having to play with my ex and his brothers. They had the game, so they knew where all the sniping spots were and they'd all gang up on me with my first try.
But overall shooter games, I'm sorta iffy with. Depends on the game. Resident Evil I couldn't even play 5 minutes of because I couldn't figure out the controls.
But games where you can't actually see the person, I think they're called First Person shooters. I'm okay at them. A little trigger happy, but overall okay. I wouldn't be considered a strong player though.

It would seem that women do have it easier over the net, since all the males (the majority) will fawn over them. But this can have a negetive effect if the woman in question isn't an attention whore and the sexual harassment might piss them off.
So it comes down to the characteristic of the woman.
But I'd like to believe that there are no women on the net...

Seems to me women tend to be easier on the nets , well given taht not all guys here are like me as in being 'different' ,the way i see it , when a female user ask for help i just help out and giving the support they need just so they can stand on their feet, and there are times when the women got ganged by men, i tend to step in and find out the truth , is she's the one who got the gun pointing at her, sorry girl even i will shoot you, but if is otherwise i'll shower the assholes with bullets, as to people who being the Mr'Knight for the ladies is just ok for me , but when that team faces me in an FPS sorry , i am gonna pelt ur girlfriend first like people say is a free kill anyway, there are times when i was call ruthless for not being lenient toward female players but hey, u wanna kick my ass ? you gonna give me ur best i am not gonna let u kick it just cuz u got titties (sorry for being rude here) over all like in the precious thread about the sex balance yeah i am one of those guy and the way i see it ? yeah females get it easy on the nets cuz there are majority of knights out there , but a word of caution to the girls just make sure they are the genuine knights not hunters for 'pants' get what i mean ? ^^ 8)
