Double Standard.

What are your guys' opinions on the classic double standard, when a woman has sex with a bunch of men she's a slut, but when a man does it he's a "stud"?

I had family visit me and they turned on some talk show, and the topic was this specific double standard. Personally, I am morally object to it, but for some reason it just feels right. I guess its because thats the way it's been since way back, and its what I was exposed to since I was a kid.

Comments? Opinions?

I think the basic principle of this double standard, is that it's much easier for a woman to get a guy into bed, whereas a man has to really work for it. Naturally, this isn't always true, but figures show that 90% of the time it is. I have pie charts. Considering that, the double standard was clearly a guy's idea, an application of 'sour grapes' so to say. If guys had it easier than girls, I'm sure the tables would be turned.

Ooo double standards. I fucking hate them and it's so fucking annoying when people defend it without knowing it's a double standard. Sometimes they know and that makes me hate them more.

America was founded by a bunch of slave owners who said all men are created equal. Mmmm that's a good one. 8)

Atheists and other non-believers have to respect others and their beliefs. Religious pricks on the other hand can mock us, call us blasphemers, and harass us just because we don't give a shit about their religion.

America suppresses sexuality, calls it sin, and censors shit when it has arousal in it.(i.e. That piece of shit youtube) And our vernacular also contains phrases like bumping uglies, doing the nasty, and other shit that makes sex sound bad. On the other hand, we have commercials which show half naked chicks trying to sell us beer and burgers. These commercials obviously try to provoke arousal.

That's all I could think of at the moment. America, home of the double standard.

I think it has a little bit of logic behind it, actually.

1. A guy has to be good at sex, but a girl just has to lie there. She doesn't have to do shit for it to be enjoyable, for her or the guy.

2. You have to have sex a lot to be good at it (just like with everything), so a guy has to have a lot of sex. A girl doesn't, because she doesn't have to be good at sex.

3. A guy who's has sex a lot doesn't feel like he's had sex a lot, while a girl does. Guys can clean up easier. A guy can just wash his dick off. A woman has to stuff a hose up her pussy and shoot water in there. Think about cleaning a stick and a cylinder. If the stick is dirty, you can see that it is dirty and easily clean it. If the cylinder is dirty, it's hard to tell and hard to clean. So, a guy can get kind of weirded out, thinking that his girlfriend has had a lot of dicks in her, and it's hard to clean those other guys out.

Number 3 may just be me though. I really don't like the thought of sticking my dick in a place where thirty other dicks have already been, especially if the girl has let some of them do it without a condom. Just like a cylinder, it's hard to get it completely clean after every use.

But I'm not planning to congratulate my son for fucking his fiftieth girl and slap my daughter for fucking her second guy. The double standard for sex just makes some sense. It depends on the guy and the girl though. I think the typical virgin guy is afraid that he's not going to do it well, and thus disappoint the girl, so he may try to have a lot of sex so he can get good at it, but I can't see a typical virgin girl worrying about not being able to please her man. Like I said, the girl just has to be there, and the guy will enjoy it.

well women have been built up to be these precious things, and are expected by society to be purer and angelic, or at least act like it. women are expected to think better for themselves rather then men, cuz women are thought to be such smarter and better thinking then men. at least from my personal experience. also when a woman loses her virginity it is more sacred then when it happens to a man. once again, at least from my personal experience.

its also a double standard when a woman gets raped, its terrible, but when i guy gets raped, you think the girl just tied him up and forced him to go through S&M, or he was not dominating during sex, so he felt "raped". there is no real way a woman can rape a man, but a woman could rape a prepubescent boy, and a teen is up in the air really, since teenage boys are not picky.

EDIT: another thing i wanted to add is that when women have lots of sex, there vaginas open more, or are susceptible to being opened wider than usual by large penises. when a guy has sex, his penis does not get any smaller or bigger. women who have had too much sex may have vaginas that are huge and you can fit a fist in. with a guy nothing happens. also guys are expected to know what to do when it comes to sex, and it is a threat to a mans masculinity if he does not know what to do, or has no experience. with women, if they have had sex with a number of men, that does not build much experience. at least not the kind other men would like. basically with a guy just touch his thing and he's happy. with women there is a process. so for a women to let any man do is a little "disheartening". with guys you expect for something like any girl will do.

i dont think it should be a double standard because double standards are wrong but...its right women can get men to bed very easy because men are SEX CRAZED IDIOTS (myself included)and we just go right along with any woman who plays the right tune(which is any).Now men on the other hand have to work very hardto get women and if they can even barley keep up with a woman when it comes to sleeping with people then they are studs.because women are not sex crazed idiots (sorry my bros).

For men sex is a reward that comes after long hours of hard work and it's all to easy for women to withhold sex if they're just feeling sadistic.

However since it's percieved as the woman's "choice" to have sex with someone (otherwise it's rape) it far easier for a woman to be considered a slut.

Also, remember that men don't risk very much when they have sex. Women always risk pregnancy.
The fact that you are willing to take that risk for the sake of a temporary pleasure may be part of the reason that women are considered slutty for constantly having sex.

I think the only way for a guy to be seen a little bit whorish is if they they are known to have done some really crazy sex stuff thats beyond what some people would imagine

hey, dont dis escorts. they have a place. some though are just glorified and legal whores, most arent though.

as for the double standard thing i can certainly understand why its there and how it came to be, i think this is one fact we all kinda agree on. i on the otherhand dislike it. guys may be sex crazed idiots (myself included), but that doesnt mean girls arent. they just hit that point on a later date. rather than spew sciece at you all ill instead go to a fairly well established stereotype.


middle aged couples. ive seen it myself so its not wholey ficticious. but its considered fairly common for the wife to be the one looking for sex where as the guy is to busy watching the game to deliver. the tables turn later in life where sex is expected but only with a spouse. i believe this contributes alot to the whole thing.

i have met a younger girl (teen) who some would call a slut, i rather liked her though. she was fun to be with, better personality than most people in that community. she just happened to enjoy sex more than most. thats i saw it as and i dont see why everyone else doesnt.

This is a different discussion, but who do some people stand up for escorts? You're not the only person I've seen do it, that's what I ask.

Aren't escorts basically whores? They spend time with the person who's paying and fuck 'em, don't they? Even if they don't fuck 'em every single time, they're still just in it for the money. Spending time with a person solely for money; how is that not the same as fucking for money?
