Now, first off, I think that letting just anyone own a MG is rather inadvisable, I think that MG's should be significantly more expensive to own [though I suppose they already are, what with ammo costs and all] and require a more significant background check than your friendly FFL calling NICS. (read: no FTF sales of MGs)
That said, I can appreciate these attempted legislation on the grounds of reducing government involvement with intrastate commerce.
