Basically when the dinosaurs were chilling and eating other smaller animals a giant rock (meteor) crashed down on the Earth causing a massive shockwave which killed a ton of them. At this point the remaining survivors were slowly dissipated by the food shortage.. Then the Ice age came and screwed them more.
/facepalm.
Do you really think that one meteor would enough to kill a ton of dinosaurs? If that was true, we would've found a mark that big. Also, the dinosaurs have already died out by the time of the "Ice Age", or the Plesitocene epoch. Dinosaurs went extinct at the end of the Cretaceous period, which is roughly 65 million years ago. The ice age started around 2.5 million years ago. The Ice Age is commonly misunderstood as a time when the Earth cooled down. While this is true, it's most defining factor is global glaciation.
Next time, I ask that you do a little bit of research before posting.
Besides the fact that there ARE craters that big on earth, ie gulf of mexico being the most probable, the impact would not just cause a large earthquake and such. It would have throw up dust and such into the sky. It would have greatly increased the temperature. It would have caused abnormal activity such as increased volcanic eruptions and such due to plate instability.
So yeah, it would be enough to wipe out the majority of dinosaurs. Maybe not all of them, but pretty much all of the larger ones and many of the smaller ones would have lost out to mammals and the like.
edit: Well shit, Ethil beat me.
