I understand that it's the person's decision, but the discussion's not fun if we just leave it at that. :(
So, at what point does obesity become a problem, according to society? Also, what about celebrities that are fat? Like I mentioned before, Jack Black and Seth Rogen are big guys, and they're popular, but what about Chris Farley, John Goodman, John Candy, etc.? Is it possible that by not denouncing the fat celebrities, we are telling children that it's okay to be fat? You tell a kid to lose some weight, and he can easily say, "Nobody tells Jack Black to lose weight."
Also, I'm getting the feeling that people think I'm talking about myself in this topic, but I'm not. I'm just asking questions to see what people say. I'm happy with my weight, though I would like to lose a little fat (but who doesn't?), and I'm nowhere close to being "too fat."
I don't think those fat celebrities are the main problem of giving a wrong example to childern. There's still "thin" majority. (At least what I am aware of)
More of a problem are probably those damn fast foods and the fact that parents don't always have time (or worse, they don't WANT to) to care about their childern nutritions. And among the young people, at least in my country, where fast foods started to spread only in last 15 years, you have to eat in fast foods at least once a day to be "cool". Add how much money is spent to advertise fast foods and sweets compared to some vegetables and you get the true reason (from my point of view).
YES, I deffinitvely see that worse than some fat celebrities.
But how I look at it, I'm far away from the topic.
