How has media culture of the US impacted Australia?

I'm supposed to write a report with a team of people but I wanted to hear more from people not just from an Asian country. I know there are Americans and Aussies here as well so could you tell me some examples?

Just what came to mind. I'm not an Australian, so I know nothing about our influence except portraying Australians as croc-hunters or taking Australian actors and moving them to LA.

well what I meant by media is the following things : Primarily the movies, pop culture, fashion, literature and other things. I mean I can understand how Rocky has an influence on people from reaching out to lower/middle class individuals. But can anyone tell me more?

Well, the internet serves to homogenize countries that speak the same language. For us, that means largely the US, Australia, parts of Canada, the UK, and probably others I'm neglecting.
Of all of those, the US is probably the largest in terms of its internet culture, so we will tend to have a larger influence on other countries via the internet. While there are other forms of media culture from the US that could be influencing Australia, I think the internet is probably the biggest one, apart from maybe movies. Movies follow the same model though, it isn't as though we don't watch Australian and British movies in the US, there just really aren't a whole lot of them. Therefore we don't get as much contact with your culture as you do with ours through that medium.
Basically though, the large scale ease of communication we have today is homogenizing the world. Smaller countries will notice that change the most, because they don't generate as much media of their own. It isn't a terrible thing though, its harder to hate someone when they are the same as you.

I've never been to Australia, so I don't really have a point of reference for the culture.
I imagine that, as far removed as the two nations are, the Aussies would see the Americans as just something to be curious over - tourists and such.
The biggest impact of America on Australia that I can see would probably be the film industry. Australia and New Zealand are some of the most common places American filmmakers choose for movie-making.
Aside from that, I'd think Australia has more influence from Japan, seeing as it's considered the number one honeymooning and winter vacationing spot among the Japanese.
