Humanitys purpose

There is no objective purpose and never will be. We behave the way we do because it's necessary for our survival. We lack the traits that other animals have, so if it wasn't for our skills in reasoning and opposable thumbs, we'd be long extinct by now.

Nope, I'm afraid countless obscure species already beat us to it. (Or we beat them into it, or ate them, or poisoned them, or gave them diseases...)

In my opinion, humanity's purpose wouldn't be any different from life's purpose, which i'm not going to hazard a guess at. Anything that makes us different from other beings is simply our different way of trying what works best in the process of living. we might yet find out that it doesn't work and indeed bring ourselves to extinction.

The only purpose we have is to be born, to reproduce, and to die. There is no other reason we live. The fact is, is that even if we are the dominant species, with tools, mathematics, and concepts beyond other animals, it doesn't really matter. It's just how evolution turned us out. The species with the most intelligence had the greatest chance of survival, and we were the product. And if you can't take the 'live, reproduce, die' theory, then the only other option is for us to not have a purpose. Unless you are one of those people who believes god has put us here for a reason, e.g. to help other people out.

In a biological sense, we are here to ensure the survival of our genes, not our species. Humans are only a host to genes, which is what needs to survive.

But in my opinion, we just got lucky and evolved a higher mental capacity. Then at some point in time, we decided to use our intelligence to fuck up the planet. Then in the future, we'll probably just die and the planet can restart. Or we might just blow it up with our nukes. Whatever comes first.

I see humanity like assholes in video games. They come in, fuck up the team, then leave. Yep.

I do believe we had a purpose. Just that were not there YET.

The closest thing we have to a purpose is to find out everything. Though really that's more like a goal...and it'd probably be a bad thing (for humanity anyway) if we ever achieved that goal because then what the hell would we do?

The only reason why we are the dominant specie is because of our brain power.. (think about it, do we have claws? no, do we have fangs? no.)

I believe our purpose here is just to create the end.

We're not the only ones able to create tools. But we have a far greater capacity for invention. We realized there are elements we can bend to out whim, and have them do things far from what they started as.

Even discussions like this are really just cause we have the ability to think of them. None of the other animals sit around thinking about their existence, how they came to be, how things will end, etc.

The thing is. Humans are among the smartest species on the planet, we're also one of the most violent. We attack others (Be it animals or other humans) for stupid things. And thanks to our ability to create tools, we have various ways to destroy what ever it is we don't like. Honestly, if humanity ever ends, I can say with certainty that it will mostly likely be our own fault. Not the fault of nature or anything from space.

Our purpose is to live our lives to teh fullest and doing all sorts of perverted stuff.
