Is there a limitation age for an otaku ?

Yeah , I need to find out everybody's opinion about this ~
A group of my friends are having research on this.

Here's some key question for the topic :

1. What's your age and gender ?
2. Do you consider yourself an otaku / Have you ever become an otaku ?
3. If the answer of #2 is "YES" , for how long have you been an otaku ?
4. If the answer of #2 is "YES" , what made you become one ?
5. If the answer of #2 is "YES" , have you ever stopped being an otaku ? Why ?
6. If the answer of #5 is "YES" , do you think you will ever get back you title as an otaku again ? Or have you got it back ?
7. In your opinion , what's the limitation age for being an otaku ?

2. Yes, I am a closet otaku who has yet to reach the upper levels of being a true otaku. I'm modern otaku if you will, and probably most of us are too.
3. For a couple of years. Junior year in high school was when it really caught on.
4. Liked looking at Webcomics, and one of them, Megatokyo, caught my interest in the manga/anime/gaming sector. I knew a friend of mine liked Love Hina, so I decided to read it - got hooked and bought the entire manga series from Barnes&Noble. Then started the path of the otaku.

This is my answer that I gave to my friends :

1. 26 , Male
2. Yes , I am.
3. Around 7 years.
4. Playing a first certain H-Games that involves an outstanding storyline and breath-taking impression. (I didn't give them the name of the H-Games , but I'm sure the game is called Snow Drop).
5. Yes , I have. I joined a band.
6. Yes , I am currently an otaku right at the moment.
7. (This is the tricky part for me. Judging by reality , maybe someday I will stop being an otaku , but at the current moment I don't even want to think that I will ever stop being one. So the answer that I gave to my friends is ....)
THERE IS NO LIMITATION AGE FOR BEING AN OTAKU , I WILL LIVE AND DIE AS AN OTAKU.

Just like I'm not really a gamer, or much of a reader, or a nerd...I do a little bit of everything, but never commit in any fashion to any activity in an amount worthy of a distinct label. Maybe if I had more time or a longer attention span, but until that day I'm simply a guy who enjoys anime sometimes.

7. There's no age limit to such things. At least I hope there isn't, certainly would be pretty boring if I actually got old and had to start being the guy who challenges random people to chess in the city park, while shooing away pigeons.

7. There is none. A 50 year old male watching anime with an intact brain is completely acceptable, unlike a 19 year old girl living in her tiny world of KAWAII DESU NE ^_^ and JAPAN IS SUPERIOR TO EVERYTHING.

I'm 18, and male, yes i might say that i am an otaku.
however, i have not been one for long, just like 5 or 6 of years.

I became an otaku because i always enjoyed adult swim when i was younger, and i wanted to see more of stuff like that, so i got into anime and manga.

I have never stopped being one.

So yeah, I don't think there is a problem. NEETs maybe, but as long as you still at least realize that there is (and hopefully contribute) to society then I think there is no problem with being an otaku for life. *shrugs*
