Let friend who's drank at a party go home with stranger?

"Your at a party, and you notice one of your friends is about to leave with someone of the opposite sex. It is someone you don't recognize, and your friend has just met them tonight. Also you know your friend has been drinking."

How would you handle the situation, and would it differ apon your freinds gender?

If the girl he's leaving with is the girlfriend of another (likely closer) friend then I'd stop him. If the girl is fugly as hell then I'd look around for the group that just had it's grenade disarmed and stop him if I couldn't find it. Any other situation it's cock blocking and ruining the night.

If the friend is a girl then the first situation applies. Anything else and it's too annoying to decide/explain conditions for involvement.

Seriously though, are you religious or something? Having drunk sex is the foundation of modern party entertainment. And by modern, I mean since alcohol and mixed gender parties were invented and combined.

The reason I asked is because I recently attended a peer mediator seminar at my college and this question came up. I got picked to answer and pretty much said
"If my friend was a guy, I wouldn't worry too much about it unless he was really drunk. But if it was a female friend I would definitely intervene, because as a mediator I deal with a number of sexual assault victims each semester, and alcohol is almost always involved."

Then suddenly every woman in the room jumped on me, calling me a chauvinistic pig, and yelling that women want sex just as much as men and that I underestimate how manipulative women can be. That women are just as capable of rape as men are.

I was like wtf!? How is "women don't rape as much as men" an insult? If women want sex as much as men and are just as capable of rape, then how come I have yet to encounter a single victim? I have dealt with guys who were victims of sexual assault, but they were male on male incidents. I didn't mean to be sexist, I was just making an educated decision based on what I've actually seen. I'm a realist dammit.

That's an urban legend, or one damn funny prank to pull on a friend who drinks to much (don't actually cut them). Just make sure the only phone they can get to has no wire, cause 911 will charge for such a call, even if they laugh their heads off.

Maybe they've been reading about how girl gang rape is on the rise (for those who haven't encountered it in your real world news feeds, that's when a group of girls beat the shit out of you and then force you to perform, sometimes involves torture.) Granted, it's not so frequent compared to the male equivalent, but it's still on the rise. And let's not forget that rape isn't about sex, it's about power/control.

Exactly, but God forbid you tell these liberal, feminist types that men and women are anyway different, without being accused as some sexist bastard from a bygone era.



I don't know, sounds like an awesome fantasy to me XD, unless the women are like ass ugly. There might be some women who think like that too but I doubt it, and they probaly suffer from some mental disorder. So I think you make a good point about it being about power/control. Thats also what that little outburst I recieved at the confrernce was all about. Even though there "feminist" they view traditional male behavior, as being superior to traditional female behavior. I do believe men and women are different, but those differences are designed to compliment one another. It's not a question of superiorty.
