Hell yeah it was illegal.... but who cares I personally would like to salute him for ripping of companies that sell very expensive game. As if the console was not expensive enough, I dont know about the other users but i come from a 3rd world country and ps3's are expensive here especially the games. But the law is the law, I understand that but you cant deprive us of enjoyment, because were resourceful :DTale this from someone who knows people in the games industry: Creating good games is very expensive. You need a team of >100 developers over a period of at least 12 months(usually twice that) to create a blockbuster nowadays.
Why is it like that? Because we, the gamers, demand better graphics, better gameplay, and better storylines, so the costs, and prices, will rise.
Anyway, I don't think he should have been punished for this, unless there was evidence of him suggesting or recommending the people who had their consoles modded to play illegally downloaded games.

This is quite possibly one of the most stupidest things I've ever heard. The guy shouldn't get Jail Time for something so trivial. People I know have "modded" an Original Xbox to make it into a Xbox 360. You can't play online, but you can have some fun with that. But imho, this is stupid.
