Piracy, Services (and Hentai)

As far as anime goes, having sites that stream the content for a subscription fee is pretty solid.
The quality is there and since the number of titles isn't so expansive, with one or two different services you can watch almost every anime available for a season legally. Crunchy roll and Animelab pretty much covers every anime in a given season with an exception or two. Im not gonna get into Blu ray and DVD's, Ive never really fancied them. (Price and content wise, same reason people don't buy all the titles on Netflix and Hulu and just stream it)
As far as content that is analogue to begin with such as manga and novels.(I'm some what aware that there are also plenty of drawings done via computers, not sure how big of a thing this is for mangakas and the likes)
There's a quality feeling that can't be replicated from just pirating the digital information. Meaning paper pages, Im not too sure on how the new generations are viewing it but I was born in the 90's and being able to consume content in an analogue format trumps digital every time. Meaning if I can buy analogue content in my native language I am going to do so. Look at Japan, no other country creates and consumes so much paper. While the rest of the world is going digital, japan is sticking with paper for the majority of their content. Thats last part is accurate information.
I can't speak for anyone else but myself, that's why I for one enjoy consuming content in an analogue format whether its a novel or manga or the books Fakku sells here. So long as its readily available, and that's really the main reason piracy has grown so much concerning overseas content. Though don't get me wrong, if the content is not there for me I will make the alternative choice and use the necessary methods gain access to what I want in a quality that is as close as possible to the original source.
Parents in the US see cable programming with Disney, CN and Nick as their beacon of hope, why? cause its shoved in their faces so they just make that readily available for their kids to watch. Japan is a minority here and they just don't have the resources to compete with over seas markets. So they focus on their minority of asian markets. Hell China is next door and is their current target when it comes to making products.
So basically japan and all its amazing Hentai and animes aren't gonna make the pilgrimage to the US or any other over seas country, took anime to make it as a streaming service a few decades. People in their own nations have to stand up and invest everything they got to bring the content here. Just like Fakku has done, its a some what underhanded method but it works. Look at Crunchyroll, that website was not set up as an anime streaming site. It was full of pirated content and once they saw their community grow they pulled the rug from under them and created the service, some stayed and the rest left and from there it grew. Fakku did the same thing, brought together a huge community via pirated content and was the market was there, they pulled the rug from under its users. It sucks but it works.(Crunchy roll and Fakku may or may not have done it intentionally idk, but they obviously saw the potential and took the opportunity to create a business)
Nothing will stop piracy, doesn't mean people don't want to be able to pay for their content and enjoy products targeted at them for once.

if its just ease of access, why doesn't everyone just scamper over to eHentai?
oh wait they all did...
I personally feel that fakku would benefit massively from having some content available for free, even if its only a few one shots a week or something, just the lure of the free far material would bring people to the site who might no longer frequent it because of the removal of unlicensed material. say there was a free chapter of the day type deal, and everyday you make a handful of works available for free, people may be inclined to subscribe and pay irl monies if they like what they saw for free. It would also give fake an opportunity to promote its own products in the form of ads that you could put alongside the free content.

They would never do this and even if they did it wouldn't be a good idea, what happens if they made a chapter free that no one really liked? There's also the issue that why only one day once ppl realize that the content they offer for free isn't enough they would just leave. And of course fakku would barely make a profit off of it since they barely advertise as is.

Fakku was founded as a tool to upload & find Hentai & doujin which others scanned and that some translated. But times change & companies change. I don't blame the staff for their choice. After a few years of not really coming here due to going straight to 'source' scans. I decided to pop in. I'm not suprised or angered. Personally, it's not a market I'm interested in - yet. But this is due to the lack of diverseity in content. However I do appreciate what they're doing with the artists & creators. More power to them. If they eventually do what CR did which was suck at the start but get progressivly better. Then hey, maybe in a few years we'll all come back here and laugh about this. Until then - thanks for the fun guys!

I'm guilty of downloading stuffs since around a decade ago or so. I know that it's technically counterproductive to the industry, but it's just that in my country there's no local license of these manga/anime, NSFW or not for me to pay for in the past. Nowadays I can at least pay for subscriptions for online access of such materials like crunchyroll.
I thought that I should start paying for books too, and had queried fakku support days ago. Turns out that the shipment fee I need to pay for a single book is worth a single book itself, and my country's bureau of customs is infamous for high levels of corruption and mishandling of goods. Then having UPS service with courier would cost me around 4-5 books, just to purchase a book (import/miscellaneous fees not included).
Turns out that I can only go premium subscription on FAKKU for those periodical updates, while the most reasonable purchase for fakku books at the moment in my case is for paying for digital copy only. On other subscriptions like Crunchy/Funi, it's not like they have all the shows I want to watch every season.
In the end, I still go download anything that I'm willing to but can't pay for, since I'd rather do that than not be able to watch/read what I can't pay for with reasonable price/effort. But who knows, maybe a few years or so these shipment/regional license problems would be minimized if not solved.
