Back to the subject... plastic surgery should be utilized in extreme cases where an individual needs to have their face or some other skeletal structure reconstructed, or to prevent other health issues (breast reduction). Otherwise it's all pretty much stupid.
I have no idea about Madonna, but I'm just going to say that ~ she HAS the money to make herself look years younger.
My opinion on surgery, I mean if the person has that low of a confidence that they need to have their whole [or section of] body done, then go for it. Some people are obsessive over a certain flaw or flaws and if looks are that important to them then you know what, let them. It's their money to spend, if they want to go and fix flaw[s], then I have no problem with it. I mean they are spending an insanely amount of money - that's basically the only problem I have with it. You know, instead of paying over 5k on surgery just spend some money on a gym membership. Anyway, I'm neutral about it - I myself wouldn't even bother but if others want to do it then who am I to tell them 'no'.
Anyway, with that money [since they do have to go back a few years later to get touch-ups] I'd put it into a account and save it for when I'm retired or if I have kids ~ save it for them [college, school - etc].
We know how to do make ourselves look better, so there is no reason not to look good. I can easily see why people would like to modify thier bodies and I think this will become alot more common in the future when the technology is even futher developed.
It is not entirely unlike getting a tattoo, or new clothes. A more permanent dress-up game.
However, I would never do a purely cosmetic operation myself, as I don't really think my outer appearance is more me than the clothes I wear, and I don't waste more than I have to on clothes.
Moderation might once again be the answare, a person isn't a lesser human just because she happen to look good or made herself look better, but being permanently obsessed with appereance might make her stupider.
i m ok with plastic surgery
if a person decides they wish to do so go right ahead
i know a lot of you say its all for looks and everything
but some people mainly girls lack A LOT of confidence
something to make them prettier can help add to it.
for me tho, i'd actually perfer all natural
but what can you do if someone wants to get surgery done
I just wish that those planning to go under plastic surgery could experience, somehow, the full effects of their decision especially way later in life. I mean for someone who is doing reconstruction surgery is answer is "Duh!Yeah!". The problem is that people are using plastic surgery as quick fixes for every little problem that leads to plastic surgery addiction. Yes that does happen.
offtopic/ Oh and on the topic of large breasts there was actually a BBC America show on women with extremely large breasts. On a weird side note did you know that 80% of women are actually wearing the wrong size bra? /ontopic
Plastic surgery? It's really neither good nor bad.
It just is.
Now some people could see it as bad, or stupid or whatever, like a lot of people may think it is completely superficial and bad for a woman to get a breast implant while seeing another human getting reconstructive surgery as a good reason to have cosmetic surgery...
But it's all in the eye of the beholder as they say.
Here's how I feel about it. You want to pump up your boobs? Go for it. You want to cut your dick off and become a woman? By all means, your choice. You want all kinds of superficial face-lifting and other cosmetic surgery, go ahead, if it makes you feel better about yourself and feel more confident in the way you look do it.
We all have to live with our own bodies and nobody else does. We should all be allowed to do whatever we please with our own bodies regardless of how society sees it.
A friend of mine actually wants to get a breast reduction because her breasts are so large they hurt her back a lot. I really feel for her and I am sure the surgery will cost quite a bit of cash...
I got into a fight with a guy who broke my nose about a year ago, I have a lil bump on it now but I never fixed it. I guess I'm scared it would never look like my real nose. And the only reason I would want to boob job is if I was 45 and they were getting a little...droopy...I guess.
its not good or bad question, its a wrong or right question, and i would consider it wrong.
to mess nature is the only kind of sacrilege i still hold dear. if someone doesnt look too hot and thus gets no chance of mating and spawning offsprings, then thats how it was meant to be
and before you all rally up and scream darwinist!
well, i am
why wouldnt i? why wouldnt i want humanity to be the best they could be even if i am long dead?
my ears used to stick out so much, they were almost pointing forwad. when i was in junior high school i got surgery to have them pulled back. it wasn't so much a vanity thing as a health issue. not my health, but the fuckers who used to grab and flick them and constantly pick on me. i even changed schools first to try and get away from it, but i kept getting into fights over it. i stabbed a kid in the leg with a compass once because he came up behind me and grabbed my ears. i guess what i'm trying to say is i only think it's wrong if you do it because you just don't like the way you look. if that's the case all you need is therapy, but if it's something like a deformaty or after some kind of trauma, then it's alright.
In my opinion, plastic surgery is okay, as it gives confidence to the person. The likely reason they went for plastic surgery is because they had a part of their body they did not like, and had little confidence because of it.
A comedian once said it best when he described this situation, everyone should carry around cards stating what their general level of hotness is, sans any plastic surgery or injuries which led to having plastic surgery.
I heard a story the other day on the news about a woman who got breast augmentation twelve times. She started out as a B cup, and now she's triple M.
The thing is, she's pregnant, and it could hurt the unborn child.
Her tits are so big, it's not even attractive. And I'm thinking about the people who really love big tits when I say that. Her tits make up a third of her entire body, seriously. It's no wonder that it's damaging her.
I also recently heard about a woman who has the world record for plastic surgery, having spent over one million dollars to try to make herself look like Barbie. Her logic? Barbie's the prettiest, and it's what all the guys want. She said that ever since she was a little girl, she's wanted to look like Barbie. There are two things wrong with this: One, Barbie isn't real. It's been said that if a woman existed with Barbie's exact measurements, she wouldn't be able to survive, because the big breasts wouldn't work with the small waist. It's an ideal in every way. Two, the woman's old. She's in her forties. There's no way that she's going to be considered hot by a majority of guys. Even if they could see past the fact that it's all fake, they'd groan seeing her face and how old her body is.
This woman has spent over one million dollars, for no good fucking reason. She wanted to look good, but she's old, and once you get old, there's no going back. You're going to be less attractive than younger girls.
So, is plastic surgery good or bad? IT'S BAD! But not in and of itself - it's only bad in the hands of idiots who overuse it. Plastic surgery can be very beneficial, like when a person's been in an accident or is born with a defect. But like most everything, you let every Dick and Harry (and every Debra and Holly) in the world use it, you're going to see it misused quite a lot.
