This isn't a surprise. I figured skinheads or some hate group would attempt an assassination. I'm willing to believe that they will keep attempting until he either crushes them (which would be the bad idea since they could turn it around as the "race war") or until they kill him.
When you seriously look at it you can't be surprised that a group of racists hate the idea of a person from a race they hate becoming the president of their country.

You're right that one shouldn't be surprised, but I do think that it's about time people got their heads clocked so that they can see past fucking skin color. Quoting the kevjumba, we gotta have more interracial babies so that when people try to classify you, they can't.

It's too soon to make everyone join hands and act like a happy rainbow. Especially with people like spike lee damning white people every time you turn around (I'm sure there is a while equivalent but, I can't think of it off hand). Until these troublemakers are dealt with then the problems won't go away.

This happened several months ago. The papers are just being released when the media reported on it. So no, his vote doesn't count because he never had the opportunity to vote on the presidential race and he losing his ability to vote by becoming a convicted felon.

Since when? I don't know how it is in the South, but. Uh - there's so many interracial children around here, blacks, spanish, etc. That I don't even blink when I see an interracial couple. It's too normal around here. The children fit in just fine <_<;

Since the slaves were freed. People in the south look down on interracial babies and couples. When a white woman marries a black man the woman is considered to be uneducated, stupid and all around incompetent while the black man is looked down upon as "betraying or selling out his race". Racial tensions are still heavy in the south. Sure, the cloud of hate is dissipating but, it's only been 40-50 years since blacks received the right to vote. The children during those troubled times are grown up and are having kids and their views are being passed down. It'll be a few generations before the entire country gets on the same footing when it comes to races.
In my high school the Blacks kept to themselves, the Hispanics kept to themselves and the whites kept to themselves. The groups rarely interacted unless they had to (classes, sports,etc) other than a few exceptions nobody talked to anyone outside their race.
P.S. Except Andriana Martinez. God, was she awesome. I'd turn Catholic to get a opportunity to date her. Such a intelligent and sexy Puerto Rican. I'd have a hundred mixed babies with her.

I hate media sensationalism. Two high school drop-outs (or just plain losers in high school) talk about shooting up their school and then killing the potential president of the United States? No one ever commits a high school shooting and lives and unless they plan on going to jail for a solid 60 years of ass rape and beatings before dying of old age.
Putting that fact aside, it was two idiots saying "Lets rob a gun store. Then shoot some niggers in a high school. Then go and shoot a presidential candidate." They weren't even close to pulling anything off and what they were talking about is about doing is quite possibly the most complicated act of terrorism possible. Killing a very high profile politician is hard to do but after Kennedy and after 9/11 I'm pretty sure that taking out a president would require either a very skilled group of people working out an incredibly well designed plan or a nutter with a death wish that really has absolutely no expectation of living for more than 6 months after killing him/her regardless of who catches you (which absolutely will happen without the slightest doubt) after you kill them.

While I may agree with how it may be pretty stupid of how some people aren't willing to weigh out the consequences of their actions, some of them are actually demented enough to think it pretty through, such issues are of Columbine, I myself found it damn idiotic of them, but it is not surprising to see some people becoming radical in their plans and placing so much conviction into it that they are willing to pay the ultimate price of their lives as they might be not willing to do those years of assrape and beatings before dying of old age(or possibly being shanked horrendously, murders in jail are somewhat more violent).
It may not be news of hearing of assassination attempts, but it is a scary confirmation to my ears.(Also, the reporter guy in the first video said "Neo-Nazi skinheads", like 3-4 times, haha)

Heh, I was thinking the same thing being a mixed person who lives in the south myself. Racism against interracial individuals is something that was a huge problem in the past, but not as much of one now. I have never had any problem fitting in with anyone black, white, or native American.
