Recently, two people neg'd me, and I felt very sad.
Then one plus'd me, and I was happy.
When you people see my reputation, you think adding to it is like adding a drop of water into an ocean.
And taking away from it won't change anything.
It does. If I lose a point, I wonder to myself "What did I do to disturb some poor soul? How could I make my appearance a little less rough on the fourms?" I rep a user every day, based on their contribution to the forums. Since I spend more time in IRC, I may sometimes slip someone a quiet reputation point from time to time, but I like to think of IRC as a separate entity. I haven't neg'repped since I was pissy with Noutakun way back when I first joined up. Some people make me want to neg-rep them, but because there is no point in taking away one hard-earned point, I don't press the button and instead positive rep someone who deserves that point.
It's the idiots that break this system really.
cmon now; you can't tell me you've never -repped me.
