Should the government be more involved? AND WHY?

I for one am against the idea of government becoming too involved with people's lives. If they were to get more involved, it would make U.S. seem more Communist. I am somewhat a libertarian so that's kind of way I believe that. Plus I think that the reason why U.S. has gone through a depression and the number of unemployment is going up is because the government is getting too involved in social and economic things. For example, I heard from somewhere that Obama gave half a billion dollars to a business that was going broke because he invested on them. Because of that half a billion dollars, the amount of debt that U.S. owes is rising up.

Can't answer to the poll question because I think that the economy needs regulation cause the system isn't good enough to work on its own. However when it comes to the social lives of people the government should stay far far away.

Hmm that is true because thanks to the government stepping into economic affairs, we have all these good things like social security, minimum wages, minimum working hours etc. Plus I agree that government should stay far away from social lives but they are already stepping into that bound now. Such as the No Child Left Behind rule thingy on education and I think people are trying to get the government to deal with abortion that is clearly a social issue that the government should have no power over.
