STEM CELL RESEARCH GOOD OR BAD?

STEM CELL RESEARCH since i did cloning i figured way not. im pro it it can fix all kinds of things so whats good for humanity is good to me.

Sure why not. If you're gonna abort, might as well donate what you aborted to science. It's not only for cloning, but they can find a cure for cerebral palsy. That way it can at least make up for something.

I don't think they even need embryos anymore for stem cell research so I don't see what the problem is.

@ Ziggy: I don't know too much about this topic but I don't think they get their embryos from women who have had abortions (by then the pregnancy would be a little too late in it's stages, by then it's a fetus I believe, and abortion can damage the embryo anyways.)

I think they use donated eggs and sperm and make their own, like test tube babies. They use those embryos for their research.

But like I said, I don't think they even need those anymore. I think I heard they can get it just from human skin cells now. But I'd have to look into it some more.

The best way is still from the embryos but, since they weren't getting any help from the gov't subsidies because of the "morals" involved. They have to improvise with the cells from patience they donated to themselves. I've seen how people have used their own cells to repair knee injuries and such

But that doesn't stop private companies from doing stem cell research on embryos does it?

Its a hell of a lot cheaper to get the subsidies. Most major industries get a subsidy from the Federal Government. Hell, the oil industry gets subsidies, so does the alternative fuel markets and just about everyone from Farmers to scientists. It just makes the research a lot cheaper to do. Without the backing of the Federal money they had to improvise with a cheaper method.

I guess so, but you gotta make do with what you got right? :/

But yeah, if people want to make embryos and poke and prod them and do their little experiments and research on them I don't care.

I doubt the embryo would care either. lol

yes helping others should be the main reason but sadly (not sad if its mine) is the mountain of money.

it seems were capable of procuring information better or solely from this method. even if they werent compromising with donations and still being endited i would approve. what is necessary to sustain the project is on the borderline of inhumane, but doesnt come near to crossing it in my opinion. it was once human life but was to be subjected to some sort of predeath, at least with stem cell research theres a benefit in the loss.

This is something I refer to ass a "Paradox" issue. The research can save and mend many lives, but the cost of aborting a fetus couldn't be more obvious if it weren't for the protesters *is resisting the temptation to called them religious fanatics* In the end, I prefer to remain neutral until I something comes up and gives me a reason to choose a side

I'm for it. Unlike religious idiots fanatics... idiots I'm actually in favor of things that can improve the quality/duration of life.
