UN and Japan will probably never outright ban anime and manga, don't fear monger that hard or no one will take you seriously.

UN is a fucking joke and I wouldn't blame any Japanese legislator or official for telling them to fuck off. No rational 1st world country should give sovereignty to those anti-free speech mongoloids.

However...
2D porn is a tricky spot since a lot of countries don't make the distinction between doujins/h-manga and pornography. Anything depicting sexual acts is seen as pornography to a lot, and therefore any abuse, fictional or not, is seen as harmful. Especially when you have to "protect the children".

Ultimately if Japan were to crack down on doujinshi and h-manga artist it should be not because of the content of the creator but if they're actually holding child pornography or taking part/contributing to illicit and abusive acts.

It's because this looks like an easy issue to them than trying to solve the situation in the Middle East (Saudi Arabia is their human rights council leader for christ sake).
If they were to somehow ban loli in Japan they would claim victory and boast to show that they actually "did something".

It's hilarious to me that the OP is worried about UN New World Order "they're gonna take our freedoms by force!" nonsense and then we get to this three posts later. The UN CAN'T punish those people other than firing them and giving information to their countries of citizenship because the UN doesn't have the judicial authority to prosecute people on stuff that isn't war crimes.

I guess what I think is funny, and tragic is that people continue to blame drawings, simulations, etc. for all of the world's evil. They concurrently lambast anyone who doesn't believe in evolution then ignore the fact that we evolved to mate and procreate at a certain age... not 6 years after that biological reality.

Porn has been around, in a reasonably accessible format for like 20 years. Far less accessible when in physical formats for maybe another 20 years past that.... In the time that violent video games and porn have been around the world has experienced a dramatic decline in rape, murder, and every other violent crime. Women's rights have expanded more in this time frame than any other in history.

If porn and violent media haven't contributed to these changes, they obviously haven't prevented them. But the progress folks aren't exactly logical folks. And they always need a good talking point to advance their career, to feel like they're making a difference. It's more than you can chew, it's too ethically demanding for parents, religious and people who believe that the Japanese anime & manga porn industry to have a position in their society. Yes, but people have to make choices whether or not the whole scheme is filled with hypocritical demands. Because even though things seem hypocritical, the society has enough surface area of diversity, so much that people don't care about their own truths which in this case doesn't necessarily effect them because they hold opinions against it but these things are left alone. If I were to have it legalised, it's going to harm it's own country more with the contents being intrusion. Keeping the peace is much better than having some hentai fans pride their masturbation sessions as much as it is about art, what consequences it hold to how pornography will become a subject in the future is more important. Keeping focus on the greater good, keeping the country same old constitutions is better than having it fall under the illusion that proverbial children sex is "art" when it is the representation of the contents presents. I should add japan banned making and distributing Real child porn 10 years ago but only in june made it illegal to own it. Real kiddy not loli ones. the chance the comic/artist/doujinshi/loli gravure being banned or asked to stop won't happen. Their union and the money is too much.
