I won't de-rep you for having an opinion or an opposing argument. Hell, Whitelion and other have opposite views and I have never de-reped them.

if it seemed that i was ok with cities being hit with WMD. that was not my intension and i am sorry that my words lead you to think that.
all i was trying to really to you all was that i personally think that a sudden oil cut to the US would in the long term have a far more destructive effect then any WMD Saddam could have lunched.
from my point of view if there was an oil cut it would mean a total collapse of the us economy, it would then lead a total lost of all transportation, and would that would lead mass starvation.
for those reasons i think any country in the states shoes would try to
first stabilize the mid-east region, and if that were to fail try to secure the flow of oil to the west.
it may not be an ethical or a justifiable reason to invade but it dose make a bit of sense to some degree.

Mu has a point. Recently after Ike hit all the gas stations with in the city limits was out of gas. Friday night on my way back from Indiana I had to stop in Nashville to fill up my car. To make a long story short, I had to call family to pick me up because all the stations within a a few mile radius of the interstate were out of fuel. My family was able to tow my car several miles down the road to a station that only had premium left.
I have mentioned it before but, supply and demand is at a razor thin margin. Even the slightest obstruction to the fuel lines then prices jump and if production suffers to a specific area then that area will run out of fuel. Certain states get their fuel from certain states specifically such as Hawaii gets its fuel from Alaska. Though the crash of the United States economy would have drastic measures for every industrialized nation of the world. Its kind of like, if we go down then a lot of you are going with us. Though it might not be the end of the world if we go down it will definitely have an impact on the world stage.
If our politicians continue the methods the have been employing then you won't have to worry about the possibility of the U.S. economy collapsing because, it'll happen and then America won't really matter anymore.
At that point you'll see me leading a angry mob around the country to round up every politician and have the publicly lynched for betraying America and putting their goddamn parties ahead of the people they are supposed to be serving.

It may possibly be one of the reasons we went to war seeing as how dependent we are on oil, but I think we can safely say that WMD is the biggest reason they went to war, since in MY opinion, I think America would be in deeper shit if our central government was wiped out. Military might declare marshal law and who knows what shit might hit the fan...
