I have personely lived my life without any idea what defines "a human life". My biggest inspiration in life was a manga artist called Osamu Dazai, he also had this issue. I can't really say I have ever understood behavioral patterns of people, so I thought it might be interesting to see what others may think defines a human life.

IMO, when you try to find the meaning of "Human life", it's the same as trying to find "the meaning of life".
Well, for me, life is a mere test.
I personally believe that there is something called "afterlife".
No, to be more precise, I believe that there is a God.
You will never get the same answer from different people, since the meaning of human life for them is different from me, and you can't say who is right or who is wrong, since it's about opinion, not fact.

Everybody has their own specific perspectives of what the meaning of life is.
It will be very difficult to find a reliable and solid answer to this question.

The meaning of life is something none of us will ever understand in this world. I personally believe in an afterlife, and I'm sure after death we'll understand what we couldn't before. For now, all I will do is live my life to the fullest, while being a good person.

I'm not so much asking what the meaning of life is, but rather what charectoristics in a persons life can really define there life as being a human.here's an example of what I mean: Some one who is "mentally deranged" and kills people more often then not is prescribed to be a monster, not human. A man who donates a fortune to homeless children is called an angel in meny cases. So then what defines a human life?

I think that as long as someone matches the scientific definition of a human (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human, I guess), his/her life is human as well. Since we are humans, we do what humans do, so our life is human as well. So I think my answer is that almost everything defines a human life. Being a "monster" doesn't exclude you being a "human".

There's nothing that constitutes a 'human' life that isn't completely and utterly arbitrary and defined by fiat. Put any other word in for 'human' and it sounds just as silly.

A drug addict is happy and feels successful if he's lowered his methamphetamine intake per day.
A businessman can be frustrated for entering the triple digits in the Forbes 400.

Humans create meanings of life to maintain their grip on reality and feel like they've accomplished something.
For instance a missionary of God might say the meaning of his life is to preach the ten commandments and the Bible
Now take a man who grew up around thugs and criminals. His way to life or "meaning" would be different then yours or mine, because he believes that crime is the "right" thing to do and you may not.

For me there's no "meaning of life", life is who your are, what you learnt, what you built. There is no correct or wrong definition of life, you can feel it but can't explain it, life is what it's really important to you.
I know that it sounds like a catch-phrase, but this is what life mean for me.
