Will Japan's censorship laws ever be overturned?

Do you think it possible? If they try to by referendum, will it work? Are there any big political parties in Japan which promotes anti-censorship when it comes to porn? I find it ridiculous that in 2009 there is still such a law in one of the most modern countries in the world. I mean, are they really that stuck-up a people still today?

This is also a problem with it hentai getting banned the fucking porn Nazi’s. Highly unlikely. It's culturally based, laws like that very rarely get overturned in any country.

It shouldn't be regulated by the government. It is the responsibility of the people to preserve their culture, it shouldn't be forced upon them.

Why does it seem to me that the golden age of hentai is beginning to slowly end? I mean, rape games are being banned, lolis being are banned, hentai is being banned, etc. To me, it's only a matter of time. Enjoy it while it lasts I say.

Japanese are hypocrites at best. And removing the censorship is like admitting it and that's what nobody likes. Admitting your own hypocrisy is what they'll never do, I think.

Seriously, if hentai gets to the point where everything gets banned...I mean yea I've got a few gigs of it but what the hell I don't want to see real life porn after I've had the good fapping life with hentai. Though honestly, the censorship law is just ridiculous, and like Gourmet Prince mentioned, it's sex for crying out loud - you might as well blot out the tits if you're really going to censor it.

The banning of hentai is making me start to believe in the 2012 scare tactic...seriously, without hentai...my life would be different, but not in a good way I'm sure. I can sort of understand the banning of rape stuff cause even though it's fictionnal it's not an act that should ever be replicated in real life. It's also something I'm not fond of obviously. But banning hentai in general is a very depressing thought.

Yea I briefly read that and not to be mean, but I am GLAD I don't live there. Wtf, there making hentai look like it's fucking cocaine or something...well, in theory it is a drug all of us here are addicted to...But yea, we should all get what we can on our hard drive(s) before the end of it becomes reality. Precisely what I have done after reading some of those threads. I really don't think it will ever come to that, at least not on such a level as we are thinking, but better to be safe than sorry, I suppose.
