Would a crimeless world really be all that great?

It would be better but it cannot happen, it's just in the human mind to want to distinguish* themselves from others by not following the rules.

I can't really say whether or not it will be a great world because not one of thousands of civilizations ever managed to pull it off, and we certainly won't either.

Depends on how the how the world becomes "crimeless." If there was no law, there would also be no crimes, since a crime is an act punishable by law. Merely take out all the laws in the world and you have no crimes. Anarchy ftw.

Depends on how the crime-less world came into existence.

If it exists because people have no desire to commit crimes and don't need to commit crimes to survive, then yes, that'd be a great world.

If it exists because people fear committing crimes because of the repercussion, then I'm not sure. I'm talking about being shot to death for shoplifting without being proven guilty or entering a guilty plea. I think a crime-less world could be brought into existence if there were an all powerful law enforcing group of people who killed anyone suspected of doing a crime with no warning.

In this case the world would suck major ass.

First possibility is an idealistic view, a utopia, and would be a good world, I think. The second possibility is a more realistic view of how a crime-less world could be made, and that world would not be pleasant to live in.

An example of a world withput lying, probably can be substituted with crime.

also it is the laws that decides whats criminal and not. Just face it all people will never ever agree on all the laws. So it will always be bad in one way or the other. If the laws are fucked up the world are fucked up.

To me a world without crime is a world without laws, which would be fucking wonderful for me because apparently I can get arrested for shouting fire in public and being naked in my own damn home.

The world would be better without crime, but a world without crime is impossible (unless the government brainwashes us).

Question is: are we PREPARED for a world without crime... unfortunately, I think not.

I don't think it would be better or great to be honest. It depends on the harshness of the crime I guess. The world could surely do without things like ethnical mass murders, murder, sexual violence etc. However on the other hand we would also be causing mass unemployment in the judicative and executive forces of the countries, which would cause quite a problem for the economy.
And let's be honest, sometimes a crime is needed, to bring upon change, be it scientifically, economically, politically, that helps humanity to develop further.

It would be better. But right now, it simply is unimaginable due to our way of thinking. Think of it as a conversion of beliefs on a massive scale. It seems impossible, but it can be done. Like how long ago, people thought the earth as the center of the universe, and that slavery was "just the way of nature".

Violence is in human nature, and it's not going anywhere. Thanks to that violent impulse we have, a (totally) crimeless world is just fiction.

Fuck no! Its impossible anyway but even if it were true rules are made to be broken. If everybody would conform into one belief it would be creepy and boring. I'd sooner shoot myself than watch this world go it some deranged sense of peace.

First of all, it is really impossible to have a crimeless world. Humans are prone to commit sins. Even if there is a crimeless world, some people would still do some crime because of wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony. All of us commits a crime even in a simple way without even realizing it.
