Depends on who it drops from.
Say it dropped from an old lady or guy, I would think that they need that cash more than me since they're retired and shit.
If it drops from anyone younger..... then hot shit, finders keepers.

Like what other members have mentioned, I will return the money if I knew who dropped it. On the other hand, if the money was lying on the ground, without anyone in sight, then I will most probably pocket it.

I'd keep it. With my economy, an additional 20$ is enough to keep my happy for a week. Also, I'm not comfortable talking with strangers, so it would not make me feel any good even if they praised me, quite the opposite.
Also, even if I would consider returning the money to the "rightful" owner, wouldn't the most proper way to say thank you be to give me the money, so why return it in the first place?
For things to be fair, the previous owner should be glad it made me glad, if I, the current owner, should be gladly returning it to them.

I am sometimes absent-minded when i walk alone on the street and probably dont see the owner of the money, if you dont see, you cant return the money, right? 5, 10, 20 €... money on the floor make you happy when you found it.

I'll return it to the the rightful owner, the one who dropped it. Usually loose coins and notes that I chance upon, would be dropped into the first donation box that I see.

I'd return money to their owner but alot of times I find coins or sometimes bills on the ground and their owner isnt around, I keep the money I find happily!

I don't believe in karma as that would violate my belief in the grand chaos of life (for those who don't know....ie: everyone because nobody cares...I worship the goddess Eris...when I feel like it...) so clearly I would keep the money...unless I felt that said person who dropped it really really needed it more than I did. So if it was an old homeless woman I'd give the money to her but most of the time I'd just keep it and thank Eris that she decided I should get $20 today instead of say.....randomly exploding.

And if it's in really shitty condition, or has some gunk shit on it, that could allude to the some other time when the owner fished it out of some dirty place, all that effort and now it's lost? I can't morally deprive someone of their hard work.
