I have that same problem, it was working until I change my operating system to windows 7, tried reinstalling it as well, still didn't work :(

you guys need to change your Unicode setting to Japanese or use applocale.

the blue window is one of the "symptoms"

how do u change the Unicode?

i had no idea there was an faq. um just a quick question. do i have to keep the unicode in Japanese to play the game or can i just install it with the unicode set to Japanese then switch back to English and still play

you have to keep it on, or else you won't be able to play it.

ok, im really newb here...;

but ive downloaded, extracted, run the Setup(with the computer pic) and installed, then went to SETUP folder in the same directory as extracted and run akuma_erisu with NTLEA...but still japanese =_="

Did you use the english patch?

well, i have data.xp3 in the extracted folder and theres another data.xp3 in the installed folder...

i ran both akuma_elis both folder, the one in the extracted works but not the installed...so when i tried following the solutions in this thread like replacing the data.xp3 in the installed folder with the one in the extracted folder, ran both again and it got me to the game but both arent translated T^T

I got this working on english, but so much time has passed since then...

hmm... i havent try it yet, but may i ask, isnt that an optional thing to do if NTLEA cant be used? i use NTLEA and it got me but not translated.

Never really used NTLEA , used it a bit and didn't get the expected results, so for all games (almost all of them) to work, I just let my computer on japanese settings.
I asked this because you didn't get the original exe to work with the game but got the one from the patch to do.

ok get this...ive uninstall the game and changed the regional to japanese and restarted my pc...installed again and this time, i got the data.xp3 AND patch.xp3 in the installed folder...so when i run the game.....still, japanese T^T...i even run the other akuma_elis in the other folders but still... =_="

this time you got patch.xp3 hum? You didn't get it before?
Try putting akuma_elis.exe from the other folder inside the main installation directory.
