The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Gerudo Valley
You want awesome game music, try the DDR series - should go without saying, as well as the FF OSTs and offshoots like Kingdom Hearts and other portable games.
koh ohtani, nobuo uematsu, and several different orchestras that contributed to the oh so awesome metal gear series. 'nuff said.

good catch with daisuke ichiwatari... catcher. guilty gear brings metal to life in a fighting game and has more characters with allusions to late american rock then you could shake a stick at. these developer preferences have obviously influenced the soundtrack and even the games 2d demeanor has a jagged kind of style i would associate with the genre.
