why is it sometimes when i try to knife a guy from behind it doesn't do it and i just stand there holding my knife when i should of stabbed the enemy by now.
I noticed that when you hold the melee button, you don't stab your target but rather just switch to your knife as your selected weapon. I believe that having your knife out like that is supposed to make it easier to perform executions as your avatar raises the knife in a way that shows that you're in range to take out your target. Think of it as the melee version of iron sights.
Haven't played for four weeks and won't be playing for another four weeks at least.
Any major changes since initial release?
They nerfed some overpowered weapons, you can now join specific squads and some other good stuff.
Does this include the first LMG for U.S.? I use it in Conquest and would always get a 15+ kill death spread because it's the most accurate weapon in the game.

yes but when that happened to me one time my avatar had the knife raised to stab but when i hit R2 button it didn't do anything, i even tried hitting R1 to swipe my knife to see if that would work and nothing, blasted glitch.
One little question ive gotta put to you guys, What the FUCK type of ammo should I use with my Shotgun?
Buckshot is apparently the best for CQ combat but Flechettes are an unlock so they should be better no(?) Then we've got 12G Frag rounds which look cool but it doesnt have the 'spread of shot' that id need and the description of it in game isnt exactly complimentary.
I'll leave the 12G Slugs alone for now cause I havent unlocked them yet but eventually id really like to give this beast a try! :D --->
i'd like to know that answer too, i've used 12 buckshots most of the time since they do decent damage, ive tried the Flechettes but they didn't seem to do much damaged like the buckshots, i have the slugs unlocked but haven't tried it yet.

Shotgun sniping, making kiddies yell "HACKER!!1!" since Bad Company 2.
NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!! I do not approve of this. shotguns don't have the range of a freaking sniper. they never do in rl. why the fraq do game developers have to make stupid things/decisions like this? I always got pissed when a fraqer snipes me from half way across teh map with these dam things in bc2, and seeing this vid here just boils my blood to see such unrealistic crap come into such an awesome game.

Give it slug rounds and it can do 200m easy in real life.
I don't know if anyone has asked this (i don't feel like going back and checking) but what was the best round you had? and what is the worst round you had?
One round i went 37-19 with all the medals my total point score was between 8,000- 9,000 and the worst round i had was 1-12 boy that was full of suckage.
Im a huge tank whore and ive unlocked canister shot which I thought would be absolute ownage but TBH it seems to be crap! (Like a giant musket instead of a shotgun)
Most people that ive 'talked' to think that the HMG is better than canister and from what ive seen the LMG is better than the HMG at killing infantry (The HMGs like *put* *put* *put* *put* which is really offputting, Like a semi auto anti material rifle) and guided shells are basically an annoying FUCKING LOCK ON ALREADY waste of time unless you want to stay out of the action, camp on a hill and rain down death.
Im so conflicted on what to use. :(
It feels so wrong unlocking shit but sticking with the default, Canister shot SHOULD be so cool!! :(
IMO, just use your most comfortable set up to kill people. I use the LMG Coaxial, because it's more about quantity than quality, and obviously easier to hit a running target.
My opinion is following:
Try using the Guided shells in co-operation with someone in the tank that has CITV unlocked (3rd seat) which allows you to lock on to laser targets and do about twice as much damage vs regular shell. Also you can kill attack helicopters with ease using the CITV Lasers.
Canister shells are almost musthave in any tight corridor map that has tanks (Tehran Highway is a good example), Couple that up with Infra-red and Reactive armor.
It's a single shot shotgun round that just has massive amount of flechettes and tends to kill infantry in single shot up to 200m if you center it right. + the regular shell and canister round have individual reloads, so you can pop the regular one and follow up with the canister. (Also the canister can do some nasty damage on jets / helicopters and light vehicles)
Same with guided shell, very handy even alone in the tank at tank-heavy map. Start the slug fest with this, add up the normal shell and it's instant disable at front. (it's 1 salvo 1 kill if you hit the rear plate)
But all in all, they're both quite useful. I personally stopped using HMG / LGM unlocks since for 1, I have to change weapon to fire the damned things.
finished this game on the xb360 and when i bought it i was sceptical as games nowadays are mostly same old same old.
Two words to sum up the battlefield 3 experience?
Finally got my F2000, and it's fire rate is a killer. Now I just need to get some add-ons to stabilize it. Too bad it doesn't have railings to connect the M320.

He's using slugs.
lol XD thanks for teh great laugh. nearly passed out behind this screen. where you from, sounds like you don't know anything bout guns. for a shotgun to have such range, the barrel needs to be rifled. those spiral groves you see in the barrel, thats rifling, it helps greatly increase range by putting a spin on teh bullet as it leaves teh barrel. since shotguns do not have this, they do not have such range. maybe 25 to 50meters with slugs, but not 200meters. now if it was slugs for a rifle, which they do have rifling, then you might have a chance at 200meters.

Correction on my part, and on your part.
Shotgun slugs can do 150m and still be effective.
A modern slug shotgun, with rifled barrel and high performance saboted slugs, is the top choice for hunters who must hunt with a shotgun, as it provides rifle-like power and accuracy at ranges over 150 yards (140 m).
Realism aside, its a game, but if you can't still sleep, just think that by putting the slug on a shotgun, you give it a grooved barrel.
