Until recently the last Atlus game I'd played was Riviera: The Promised Land on the GBA, and I didn't even know that was Atlus then. Pre-ordered Shin Megami Tensei IV on a whim, and hooooooooly fuck I have no clue why I never picked up that series or at least the Persona spin-offs. Shot them way up in my mind.
Well, happy accident, then: Riviera was NOT developed by Atlus. It was only published by them, and in NA only too no less. Riviera, and the rest of the Dept. Heaven, were all developed by Sting

However, you followed the name anyway, and actually got to Atlus' real RPG series, the SMT franchise. Be prepared for the hardest, yes satisfying journey in your RPG life.
