I'll just quote myself from another forum here. The "you guys" are the people that are currently complaining about this bullshit.
Lol, u guys are such fucking wannabes. Sure, the new Dante LOOKS pretty emo gay, and I dun think it was a good idea to change his looks either (since they should know all the hardcore fans faggots will go "AwhMaGawdh, the new Dante is like sooo not cool, he should have silky, white hair, I mean like, GOSH *chews bubblegum with open mouth*), but hey, the game (aka the story, the gameplay, all the things that actually matters) might be awesome anyway. From what I can see in the trailer, it looks pretty sweet.
Imho, you're a bunch of ungraceful bastards that just cuz your little wet dream character got a new haircut havta crawl into your little emo corner, and thus you dun deserve to play any DMC game, ever again.
Thank you.
Now, for those that I agree with; hell yea, looks like it's gonna be preeeetty sweet, and some refreshing stuff to the game can hopefully only make it better, since it was getting kinda stagnant.
Hwoah there cut, cut, cut. First and foremost let me raise the question why you need to fix what's not broke? Or in this case why break what's perfectly fine?
Also who the fuck thinks going back to Dante's juvenile days is awesome? We already know what happens after: he goes to beat Virgil's candy ass, go to hell and skull fucks Mundigus then bitch slap the homo out of Nero while stomping on that Savior son of a bitch. If you ask me, the better move is a plot that revolves between both Dante and Nero since the two are currently the centre of the DMC universe, not a rewind in time so we can see Dante get drunk with his teen friends while having his hair dyed black, and soaring the city skies like an emo peter pan. Well I guess the creator ran out of ideas to continue with the current story so I'll leave it at that.
What annoys me the most with this current trailer is the character change. Yes you heard me, moan all you want but I'm not going to bow down and accept this deepshit. Why? It's not because he has black hair or because he's as skinny as that drug addict from Lord of the Rings, but because he's a symbol of the studio's arrogance. Everytime anothern Studio takes over they piss on everything just to make their mark, like a lion pissing on shrubs to mark their territory. They made Resident Evil into Call of Zombie Moaning Warfare, Silent Hill isn't Silent anymore and now Dante who usually doesn't want to meddle with human affairs gets in trouble with the police.
If gameplay is all you want then this game will totally give you a hard on as it's obvious it carries over the dynamic gameplay DMC always supports. However if you're one of the few people who actually cares about character development and the plot the best thing to do is to not play the game before you see Dante take on the freaking Al Qaeda. But I suppose judging a game from trailer alone isn't at all professional so I'll give it a try when it does come.
Also, why the fuck are you guys hating on people who complains about this? In the same way Mio fans would rage if another studio gives Mio a mustache and armpit hair of course some Dante fans would get mad about this total make over. Would everyone like it if we gave Kratos man tits?
What your wall of text boils down to is that you hate change and artists/directors/writers switching the story from the direction you wanted it to take. Sorry, but that isn't going to happen, as you won't always have the same people doing the IP when it's ever changing. So yeah, you kind of do have to take this "deepshit" or not play the game.
The game still looks the exact same as far as the whole many camera angles with super powerful guys beating the shit out of demons, and it doesn't look like his personality has changed much.
Also, I'm not seeing as how you can predict what will happen making this pointless. It's not a remake, it's a reboot. The only thing that might remain from the old series is his name. It's far too early to be saying this game sucks or I hate this just because you don't like the way he looks now. If that completely ruins it for you though, then don't play the game like I said.
I do agree that I am not a fan of the direction of Silent hill or Resident Evil. I still play the game though for what they're worth. I enjoy them on some level, just not as much as the old ones. That is the case for most shit nowadays.
And what makes you think I can't bash this deepshit while still play the game? As a critic I'm going to buy this game then throw the crap it deserves unless proven wrong. Also I subscribe to the ideology that everything in the internet is shit unless proven otherwise.
Sorry but nothing you said adds to why this trailer should be considered awesome, 'cause all you said so far just says "Wahhh dont hate him cause he looks like some retard who just got out of a meat grinder." Well fuck off, my money, my decision to buy this shit, my right to complain.

Of course the plot and the character development is important, but what I see is this;
Dante is younger (meaning that he don't have to have much resemblance to the older Dante in matters of appearance or personality at all; people change through time, and Dante is pretty long lived),
he has another haircut and the stress of his life haven't turned it all white yet (sure, it looks pretty fag, but there is WAAAAAAY to much annoying emo crying about this, gawd damn. Give the guy some slack and let him cut his goddamn hair if he wants to!),
and he smokes (maybe he got smarter as he got older and stopped, ooor maybe the developers just realized that smoking is a great accessory),
and he's gone a little bit from cocky to bad ass (I'm pretty sure his cheesy lines will still be there, and the mistakes from DMC2 will not be repeated, so rest assure).
and then just a bunch of whining before the game has been released. Sure, there's always this kind of shit when a character changes, at some degree, but this is fucking ridiculous, when the entire internet is just cutting their wrists over this.
Actually, THIS IS A SHOW OF CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, since making just another copy of Dante being exactly the same, doing exactly the same things again ain't gonna cut it. However good DMC4 might have been, DMC4AGAIN would just be boring.
Okay congratulations sir ,you put more things to argue about than the previous. However:
1. DMC 3 Dante could be considered the youngest Dante so far (without this game) and he has white hair. A flashback on an even younger Dante just before he separated with Virgil was also shown and he also had white hair, meaning I cannot find any suitable timeline where he couldve dyed his hair black just to turn it white again. It's just out of character.
2. His bad habits aren't that much of interest, he can smoke weed all he wants while bonning Lady and I could still care less no matter how out of character it is.
3. Cloud wearing a robe is a little change, Haseo wielding guns instead of a scythe is a little change, Yuna going from mage to a stupid, god damned, idol dual gunner is a little change but this Dante right here is a godzilla change. There is no resemblance at all and I think that is the big problem. The die hard fans are beginning to see this as a move to totally replace the old Dante whom they adored. It's like the owner of Pepsi company refilling the Coke cans with their own vile of shit and serve them to coke drinkers. The retards will still love the soda but the normal ones will probably try to drown the manager in pepsi acid.
4. Yes I agree, this is a show of character development. The kind of character development a student in highschool shows the first time he sees a pimple on his face, where he then rushes to find some lotion and smears it all over his cheeks just to wake up the next day to see that his pimples multiplied like rabbits. You know, the SHIT kind of character development. DMC 3 already established that Dante was an immature, cocky and rebellious badass when he was a child and we don't need to know that he's also full of angst. There is also no legit reason to change his appearance unless they're a part of the plot which until now isn't given light on.
Like I said before I do not support the changes this studio is bringing to DMC 5 but I will give it a chance. The only difference is that I will not expect total greatness from this game unlike as I did the first time DMC 4 arrived, which disappointed me a little. And now I will be throwing back earlier statements, if you don't want to hear a complain then go to North Korea where everything is probably controlled. As I see it fans have a legit reason to complain and telling them not to is a sign of fear that your game won't be released unless everyone likes it.
Why am I pushing this?
As much as you people hate it when other gamers complain about something. I on the other hand hate it when other gamers get affected by how others think. If you think this new Dante is awesome, then feel free to rip your old Dante posters, but it doesn't mean everyone should like this abomination of epic proportions.
