I don't especially like vanilla dota anymore. The games just take too long to play, and sometimes its annoying when you've lost but the enemy team won't end it. When I play in house with my gaming group we tend to just call some games, and go onto other things. Now Overthrow, I can get behind that. Quick leveling, quick money, lots of fun fast fights.
I think the sandbox mod was the best thing Valve could have done. It feels like it's siphoned away SCII arcade players though. If I get on there it can be hard to fine people to fill games now.
Yeah, I think it was a great decision as well. While I personally still enjoy the main mode primarily, I do think that it was a smart choice. Dota has always been big on community contribution, and they really opened it up with the Reborn custom games.
While I'm online, what are your top three favorite heroes to play? Mine would have to be Spectre, Enigma, and actually Terrorblade (WHEN the situation is good for him. I ain't touching a game with leshrac or QOP in it with a ten foot pole)
Witch doctor... because cask + ulti is always a fun show.
Silencer... In overthrow I build him with Rod of Atos(cripple), and an orchid malevolence (5 sec silence + %30 damage). With that build I can mow peeps down with the true damage.
Ursa... Build a shadow's edge(Gives Invisibility), and wreck people before they realize you're there. Pairs well if you have a partner that can slow. Get on top of them, and get your opening off. Then your partner slows, and one of you gets an easy kill.
