DotA Player's Thread (We love this game)

All i can say is that i have spent way to much time on this game. Over 2000 years of my life have been spent on this game. But alas i have moved on.

IMO dota has changed alot since i first started out. And TBH was better, more fun and more balanced back in 2003. Those were the days.

Though respectively dota has probably changed fopr the good in most people's opinion. Since i first started, dota now has become a worldwide phenomenon that many people across the world play. I remember back in WC3 RoC, if you were seen playing dota, everyone made fun of you for doing so!

i didnt know they had Dota in ROC, i only started around 5.XXX version, the time when Gambler was still there, that money making bastard :O

Yeah dota started out on RoC, originally created by Eul. (who actually stole the idea of the map design from a mod from Starcraft, named Aeon of Strife) That's why you've got an item named after him in dota, Eul's Scepter of Divinity (cyclone thingy staff).

Back then dota was never really popular and only had like 15 heroes. Only of which rikimaru, clinkz, chen and naix remain now.

and back then, riki's Ultimate Skill is a Moving death ward, right? invi and have deathward.. wow...

they should remake gambler and put him back in.
lol a hero centered around just making money and getting fat with minimum effort

and that's exactly why Icefrog put it in Fun Tavern instead of normal tavern.

Ya cause that doesnt sound imba at all... like having all your late game items at lvl 11...

fastest divine i've ever seen is at lvl 10... and that was the old divine...

and no... that was a 3 v 3 match... his hero was gondar and his first item was 6 tangos... after that we suddenly saw him wielding a DR at lvl 10... how he did it boggles us up till now...

gambler with DR isnt that big of a deal since everyone can just gank him and take it from him considering he has no skill to help him survive and no escape mech


my WCG standard friend farmed both BoT and blink dagger in just 15mins.He practically owned the middle lane in the first 10 mins.He was using TA btw.
His way of playing morphling is enough to mind fuck me..- -;;

or he can drop it and have another hero get it who has an escape skill ^_^

DR only provides raw damage,nothing else.
I personally wouldnt even buy it even for the lulz

you should try it then, it's very fun when you got killed and the enemy pick it up. and then your team ganking the DR carrier like crazy to get it back. wohoo...!

oh right, cause you know having +250 damage isn't so important. Psh, one shoting creeps, taking chunks of your enemies life. Thats no good at all...:roll:

yes its for lolz most of the time, but would you refuse a free DR?

or near a melded lanaya... then again... you won't see her till she strikes...

most often a DR is too good to be true lol.
I seen games people are actually greedy enough to fall for traps by techies by just an ironwood branch lol
