Echo Bazaar

I heard of this game while watching a video on the Escapist series, Extra Credits, and at first I thought, "mah, a text based game" but I tried it out and the strangest thing happened. I kept playing, trying to find out how I got put in the prison I was in at the start of the game, and how I could get out of the underground ruin of London called the Neath.
