[English] Canvas 2 DVD Edition

Not a big issue but do anyone here got the emotes working without switching to japanese locale? Applocale and NTLEA didn't work for me.

It is good when you don't have to download a +10 parts rar, because most of times at least one rar becomes corrupt.

ok I dled the one from MU but still having the same problem, launcher refuses to install the game upon clicking the install button on it. other iso games nvr done this cept this game... =/

Can you send a screen?
If you already did tried to install before, try to clean the folder and remaining files from the other installation, and use regedit to clean the registry from the previous installation.

This morning i was having a similiar error to yours, just cleaned the registry and it worked wonders (but it was another game so i can't say for sure if it will work for you).

when I click on the install button it just goes grey for a few secs then back to normal, nothing pops up to install it....and idk how to use regedit to remove the files.

Start>>Run>>type regedit

If you don't know what you are doing just don't mess with it, or it will screw up your pc.
But you wish to try it this way, after typing regedit, click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SOFTWARE
Find the publisher name , probably will be F&C, and delete it's entry.

Sometimes it can be simpler than that, just go to Control Painel>>
Add and Remove Program, and from there you find Canvas and uninstall it.

alright it works but it gave me this error.

I can't read japanese but after googling it a bit, it looks like it has something to do with your pc, did you set your system to japanese or are just using applocale?

Try downloading this update too(this is on F&C official site, so i assume this may help you):

ah the pc is set to english language, but I set it to jp so maybe it should work now.

Edit: set it to japanese but I still receive the error everytime I tried to install.

Did you restart the computer before trying again?

yep restarted the pc and tried the update, it just give me nothing with some japanese words on top.

I don't know if you already saw but i sent you a pm, i will keep trying to help through pm or this thread will just become full of useless posts.

It's alright to download , my installation came with this file too, this file is used during installation to check files on your computer to check if the game has already been installed, so you can use the option play on the launcher.



Sorry to post this in this thead too, but i think it may help a bit whoever download this.

TUTORIAL TO INSTALL THIS.

1- First of all make sure you have your regional settings set to japanese,if it's already set skip to step 2,if you don't know what that means, it probably is not set, to do this click on:
(If control panel is sorted by category)
Start>>Settings>>Control Panel>>Clock, Language and Region>>Region and Language options, skip to step 1.1
(If control panel is in classic mode)
Start>>Settings>>Control Panel>>Region and Language options.

1.1 In the first tab Set to japanese and japan. In the second tab make sure to install files to east asian language. In the third tab to japanese. You may need your windows CD to do this and if you don't have that go to this
thread.
If it was not set, after setting it, make sure to reboot your computer.

2.Make sure you have a program that mount image files, if you don't have, download this one, and it will do the work for you.

3.Extract the rar and get the C2_DVD.iso image.
4.Now mount it and open the disc.
(Vista users make sure to run the next step(5)as admin)
5.Double click LAUNCHER.exe
6.Choose the second option, and second option again.
7.Choose the directory you wish to install the game and press OK.
8.If the first option on the Launcher lit and the second disappear it means the installation was successful.
9.Download the English patch and no-DVD patch on this thread.
10.First apply the english patch, copy the game01.mrg that was extracted from the Canvas 2 DVD Patch 1.03.rar to where you installed the game, if it asks for you to overwrite is because you have done everything corretly until now, so answer yes.
11.To apply the no-DVD patch, copy the Canvas2_DVD update file to where you installed the game, and after that double click the update, this will update your advwin32.exe(you use that to start the game) to a no-DVD version.
12.If you get a error when you double click advwin32.exe to begin playing, just choose second option.
13. profit???

P.S : For the menu:
New Game
Load Game
Quit

In the name entry screen:
Just click Ok since the game don't have support to western characters.

I hope this tutorial helped you people having trouble to install this. =D

done what the tutorial said, but it give me that system error that I posted earlier.

Try using compatibility mode.
Mine gave the same error than yours, but it gave me the option of choosing yes or no, so is probably because you are using vista.

it was using xp service pack 2 compatibility when I restarted the launcher but I still get the error. =/
