Well, it was fun. Took lots of screenshots and will be doing a slideshow commentary (since SE does not allow video/audio recordings yet) with them.
I got stuck after lvl 16, the main quest required me to party up for a dungeon in order to advance. Hopefully they remove this feature seeing as it can be difficult at times to find party members, and that shouldn't be a limiting factor on your story advancement.
I'm pretty sure (like 70%) that the toons we have for this phase of the beta will be deleted, as they were in the last phase. However, for phase 4, which is also when they start rolling in toons from people's 1.0 game, the characters we create will not be deleted.
I very much enjoyed this phase, being able to check out the other city-states, and being able to play all of the classes. I'm pretty set on getting this when it comes out in late August. Aside from a few beta-related issues, it felt pretty solid. Worth giving it a chance methinks.
Beta scheduled for this weekend, starting from 2AM PST.
Since it was my first beta test last weekend, I wasn't able to get very far. Hopefully I'll be able to log more hours into the game and be more efficient with the quest progression.
If anyone playing on NA servers want to party up, let me know :)
Probably spent the longest gaming period of my life over the past 2 days. Got myself to 25 on my GLAD as well as level 16 for weaving. Can't wait for the next weekend.
If you guys haven't pre ordered yet, and plan to do so, I believe you can save 20% by pre ordering with GreenManGaming. They email out a wrong code that doesn't fit the SE registration site upon receiving payment, but they should be sending out a new one at a later time.
Im actually trying to minimize my time in the beta, dont wanna get burnt out... so what Im just doing is figuring out which is my favorite city and class, as well getting adjustex with the mechanics. Fuck that worthless minimap.
Sadly I found out they ran out of physical CE for PC... so sad
It's not too bad once you get used to it. I shared the same feelings about it during the first closed beta weekend but now there's no trouble with it whatsoever.
ya the mini map is fine but not using it is the problem for me because ive gotten side track so many times going "ooo whats that" and "ohh whats over there." So it helps to a point
I got to 22 in about one day of solid play as an ARC.
This game is a pretty nice return to form for SE. I don't know about it's lasting appeal as a long term MMO, but I can easily see myself playing this for 3 months just to play it as a FF game. Fast, fun and extraordinarily beautiful.
