Let's talk flight games! I want to dust off my old Logitech joystick, maybe even invest in a new one, and get back into a good flight game. Preferably a simulator.
Here are some upcoming games I have my eye on. All three could be entering closed-beta soon.
World of Warplanes - Free-to-play - By wargaming.net, the same guys who brought
World of Tanks. I had a lot of fun on WoT and I'm looking forward to see what they do with this one. Might be sim, might be a bit arcadey, don't know yet.
World of Planes - Free-to-play - Almost identical name, right? That's how I accidentally stumbled across it. Also featuring planes and combat from the same time period as WoWP, and in the same stage of development. By Gaijin Entertainment who created
IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey and
Wings of Prey. Going to be a simulator and looks promising.
Microsoft Flight - Free-to-play - Microsoft's new flight sim. Going Free-to-play with micro-transactions. Not many details known yet. From what I understand, players will start on Hawaii. There is also a very limited number of aircraft shown in the videos. I can't say for sure, but I can only assume that any other planes and areas of the world will cost some money.
I used to play
Combat Flight Simulator and
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. Doesn't mean I don't enjoy some arcade action now and then as I like the
Ace Combat series and enjoyed some coop on
HAWX.
So now I'm just waiting for the ones I've listed to release. I just like to fly, combat or no combat. Any suggestions for a sim to play? Any other aviation fans on Fakku?
