Video Games Live are crowd-funding their third album full of orchestrated and big band renditions of classic game music, with the co-operation and involvement of the original artists and composers. Currently on the roster:
Confirmed: Monkey Island (w/ original LucasArts staff), Street Fighter II, Skyrim, Beyond Good and Evil, Shadow of the Colossus, Silent Hill 2 (w/ Akira Yamaoka on guitar), Journey, Tetris Opera.
Negotiating: Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger/Cross, Destiny, DOTA, Assassin's Creed, Earthworm Jim, Zelda, Mario, Pokemon, Super Smash Bros., Metroid, Donkey Kong Country, Mass Effect, Katamari Damacy, World of Warcraft, StarCraft, Diablo, BioShock, Metal Gear Solid, Uncharted, Portal, Red Dead Redemption, Devil May Cry, Megaman, Soul Calibur, Resident Evil, Pac-Man
All of the confirmed games were on that list beforehand. They also have a proven track record organising concerts worldwide. Think about chucking $10 at it, because otherwise it's going to either not happen or be delayed by years.
