I doubt anyone will play an untranslated game. In fact, I would go as far as to say I would rather not play any of these game until they are translated. If these are the best wouldn't you want to enjoy them at their fullest?
Also the Get it on FAKKU! text in here looks really familiar.

And im pretty sure there are quite a number who use AGTH+ATLAS to play...and didnt regret it.... solely relying on the game to be translated isnt quite a good idea, as you have to wait a long time (take a look at TH2 , F/HA and G-senjou). It limits the games you can play alot when there are tons of titles out there and a number of them are better then the average English translated ones. Plus we would be far behind the JP VN community circle.

By the time one VN gets translated, you missed alot of other new VN release in the mean time. The amount of new good VN produced is way higher then the amount of VN getting translated... I would rather choose to play 10 good VN titles on 90% satisfactory then to play 1 english VN with 100%. In fact, I enjoy several titles more then some english translated ones...
Many of the VNs are not as hard to understand as many may think, I started out just with a blur knowledge of hiragana katakana, command of jp pronouncation learned from anime watching, and learn as I proceed. Im glad I am able to play the epic titles like Tomoyo After, Fate Hollow Ataraxia and so on that people waited so long for the translation.

There are indeed quite a few people that use AGTH & ATLAS (even tho Translation Aggregator is the best imo), but equally there are a lot that are disappointed. I've walked people through installing this stuff plenty of times and I'd say 60-70% are disappointed with the results. It maybe just a difference of opinion on the matter, but for me quality should be put above quantity. I would rather play and enjoy the few Translated VNs, rather than struggling through something that could be better.

Once again, it's a matter of opinion. Also, since you know at least some Japanese that makes you a little biased. Even basic knowledge puts you light years ahead of 90% of our community. Even 90% is saying a lot. Probably 99%. This is of course based entirely upon personal experience. Most of the people who post don't even know some basic computer commands.

That is a game that I will wait 10 more years if need so to play it translated.

But I just dont quite understood the mentality of people willing to wait so many years for one title when we can start learning in a much much shorter time period. I experienced the same when Tomoyo After came out, and started learning jp because of it, after that with my life contantly involve in VNs, my understanding increases slowly too. Its a choice VN players should take, especially if you grow up with JP dubbed animes which give you the upper edge from others.
AGTH+ATLAS actually also requires you to have basic japanese knowledge to utilize it...if you understood 50-60%, it will make you understand more to 90%...i guess thats why the numbers of dissatisfaction.
Even so, I felt that you quistion the purpose of this.. I guess this thrend is for the small community that I hope would expand in the future, and to ensure that the good ones that on fakku are known, and not left far behind pages untouched.

Everyone should know what the good games are and maybe I should rephrase one of my earlier statements. Hardly anyone will play the untranslated games for the story. There will be lots of people that will play these games, but it will be for the eroge and not for the story. Not everyone uses ATLAS & AGTH and maybe 1% of our community is fluent in Japanese. The majority of the people who play VNs do it so for the eroge. For the few lucky enough to be happy with AGTH & ATLAS Translation and or have the ability to read Japanese; this will come as a go to guide for them that I am sure they will appreciate.

I agree with Animeholic. I've tried ATLAS+AGTH, and I can hardly comprehend the translation. (I have a moderate understanding of Japanese in terms of grammar and sentence structure etc; but my only real downfall if probably the vocab.), but more than half the time I get a load of garbage so I end up getting out my Japanese dictionary anyway. I honestly don't recommend anybody playing with ATLAS+AGTH, simply because you won't even get anywhere CLOSE to 50% of the original meaning. You'll end up with very literal translations; if any at all; which you're going to have to piece together like some puzzle- which sounds easy at first but is a horrible way to read anything, becuse you're spending more time trying to decipher what a phrase means rather than enjoying the actual story.
Basically, if you require the dictionary to read anything, then it won't be a pleasant experience. I've tried playing Eden* with a Chinese localisation, and while I could manage a 70-80% understanding of everything when combining both the Chinese and Japanese components, I must say that I would much rather wait an extra year or two for the English localisation to come out.

I've only learned Hiragana, but AGTH/ATLAS isn't that hard to understand. Of course I won't use it on about-to-be-translated VNs, but for games like BaldrSky where there's 100% chance of no translation, you just have to use it. It's one of the best Action games on VN I've ever played.
It sure does challenge your comprehension and reasoning though, using AGTH/ATLAS, and there's that little problem of composing proper English for some time too...
