Girls Beating Guys at Videogames

does gender really mean anything when it comes to video games. On fighting games I always pick girl characters (cuz I'm a pervert. get over it). When I do the guy I'm playing with says "You picked a girl? I guess that makes you a girl." Then he would laugh. But not for long cuz I would then proceed to kick his ass with my girl.

Thats how it used to be for me in my group.
Now everyone has that one girl character in our fighters that they always pick.
Or in games where we have only one girl in a game, arguments always break out on whom gets to be the chick.

I was always confused by this.
I am really good at fighting/RPG/MMO games and mist guys get mad.

But I don't care. I enjoy playing them anyway.

On the contrary, the girls in my friends list that play Tekken with me are sore losers. I don't hold back for anybody regardless of gender. Although, I would be impressed with a girl who can beat me and my other male friends. I'd take my loss like a man and keep challenging them.

I am pretty good at some fighting games. I am really bad at other games and my friends no it. That is why they do not play me often at fighting games. They are not very interested in the genre, so it is fine. We all just hang out and play games for fun. It is entertainment and there is no reason gender should matter. As long as everyone is having fun.

I will admit that there is a lot of salt that goes around, but that is because of other factors, not so much gender.

On another note, it seems that in the fighting game community, many people dislike seeing women in there. It makes me a little disappointed, but I hope they men can someday embrace women into their arcades and tournaments.

Yea, was playing with some friends at FPS games. I won't say I'm good, but I get pretty lucky sometimes. Then, their expression just changed and stop talking.

But to get back to the topic at hand...I see that a lot with most fps . Many people I play with cant take losing to a girl. I have lost to a few girls in fps before. When I lost, I would be like,"AWWW MAN I FUCKED UP" but then I would tell them,"Hey good match lets have another again. Ill beat your ass next round :)" thats how I would handle it really. But in most fps the guys would be devastated if they lose to a girl. Mostly because many put up a smart, tough, know it all act to show superiority. If they would lose to a chick most would bitch about it and leave.

Yea, I mean I agree how some girls get way too carry away and think they are badass and all. That won't only piss off a guy, but it pisses me off too.

I think is also how human being doesn't like losing. When a guy loses to another guy, they have no choice but to accept it or call them all kind of name. I hate guys like that. Even though they are friggin good.

I know some guys, amazing gamers, and they don't give a shit if they got killed. They might complain if they were camping or play like fags, but not sore loser.

Getting mad at losing, doesn't really matter vs who at this point, impies someone's expecting a 100% winrate in every situation - which is either stupid or simply offensive to the opponent. "You're so bad you couldn't take 1 match out of 100 from me."

I don't really know how FPS handles it, or rather I'm unsure modern FPS gaming has competition in such a sense, but where I'm coming from having a 60+% winrate is already considered a feat and displays great skill in the scene.

This is why you don't brag with winning, it doesn't matter what your circumstances are, it makes you look heavily inexperienced. It's a form of labeling yourself bad and unused to winning anything, ever.

Heck, ive had girls beat me at video games at least half of the few times that ive played with them. Its definately not as bad as losing to someone who was playing for the first time and magically new how to do everything to kill you.

I was playing MW2 with some friends of mine, and the girl who had played like once before was on my roommates team and I was on my other roomies team when she ran up to me and was about to shoot me, when I said "wait don't kill me, i'm a good guy" she turned around and I stabbed her in the back.

It doesn't bother me, games are meant to be fun, and there is always someone better at the game than you are.

Long fights with Brains, it's the weakness of any Female gamer. They have only recently developed the ability to function outside of Kitchens.

Gender shouldnt be an issue with it. Sure some people will be slightly more butthurt to know that they got owned by the opposite sex for some reason(Ive never been good with such reasoning), but what should really matter is not that they lost to someone of the opposite gender, its that they lost at all. When I lose(in anything), I want to try harder to crush whoever owned me, not curl up & bitch about it. If I cant get a do over or get owned again, then I'll just have to suck that shit up & do some internal bitching.

I actually like it when girls beat me because then I feel the challenge and come back harder than before.

If a guy beats me then next time i'll just troll him or play cheaply but if a girl does it then I like to put in that extra little bit of effort. (Thats just the kind of guy I am)

it depends on the talent/dedication of the gamer, rather than it's gender really. Over here there are not many women who play videogames, so it's hard to say. The only games I've played them at are pokemon and smash bros brawl, and I won.
