Graphics vs. Game play

It seems many games either give us one or the other. i first thought this about the game donkey kong country. it looked much prettier than the other games around that time, but the game itself was a bag of crap. some of my favorite games didn't look good but were very involving and fun, but didn't look very good. there have been a few exceptions over the years, i just can't think of any off the top of my head. what do you think is more important? i think game play vastly out weighs graphics. i don't care how much make up and fancy clothes you put on a pig, in the end, it's still a pig. does anyone else feel this way, or am i just lost in the fevered dream of a mad man?

Gameplay is always more necessary than graphics although having great graphics and gameplay = a very epic game pew.

I dont really have any issues regarding graphics, so long as the game can keep me entertained, I'm happy. What I'd like to pick a bone with is the game's run time.

Gameplay > Story > Graphics. That's for me. Even a game has a drooling graphics while on the other hand no decent story and boring gameplay, I'll say no thanks.

Allot of the Sony exclusives give you the best of both worlds.
