Guild Wars

Soo I checked the Masterlist and could't find it so I thought Id put one up.
Yes I know it is an older game and Guild Wars 2 is coming out soon but for the moment I know I have neither the money for it nor the computer to run it so I guess Im gona stick with the first.
I picked the Gold Edition up a few moths ago during the Steam Summer sale and just now started getting into it after getting burnt out on LoL. So far though im kinda lost ......... After playing WoW for .... well a long ass time the game is very different to me but very similar.
Im currently leveling up a character in the Nightfall campaign and .... goodness It reminds me of the first few weeks of my WoW experience: constantly rerolling new characters trying to find one I find fun (though I found that I like the Dervish the most), getting completely lost on where to go or where I am, not knowing what professions go together (screwed up my second by accidentally choosing Mesmer which I have found no use for), and generally getting my ass handed to me a lot ....
Anyone here can give me a few pointers? Or something along those lines? Im just barley grasping the mechanics but I feel like there is a lot I have yet to understand. One question though .... how come some quests are sending me to different campaigns? Or at least from what I gathered different places in different campaigns. That just confuses me to no end.
