Heart De Roommate

I have a problem. I installed the game. It starts all right. Sound, visual - everything is present. Problems start once i get to the menu. I can continue(what is useless, since I don't have any save files) or exit, but if I try to access new game or appendix(I can see the appendix page, but the game is crashed), it crashes. I have windows 8, so I tried using Windows XP and Windows 7 compatibilities, but the result was same. Reinstalling also didn't help. Starting the game as administrator was as useless, as everything else. Any proposals how to deal with this issue?
