Hentai Desktop Game Vista Compatibility

I made this a while back for all the games on the Games list of the site. Since Vista can be weird, I decided to pop this up. Most of the newer games today designed to work on XP will work on Vista, but games made for 98/95 sometimes do and sometimes do not. So, if I find the time, I'll add more games to this. Feel free to submit your own corrections, and I'll edit my post to include them [with your name next to the submission], so no-one has to dig through 10 pages of "eh".
[color=green]TESTING COMPLETE FOR SITE GAMES[/color]
This list has been compiled solely by me. So far.
Default test: Slowly work my way through the standard Compatibility modes [95, 98/ME, NT 4.0 SP5, 2k, XP SP2 and Server 2k3 SP1]. After this, I just test using 95 and 98 with various combinations of Settings [256 colors, 640x480, etc]. Any notes underneath are application specific.
I have also disabled UAC, but it probably won't be unnecessary for use.
[color=green]Pass[/color]: No setting adjustment required, a game that works hot off the press.
[color=darkblue]Conditional Pass[/color]: There is a problem or a setting that has to be changed for anything to work. Read the bit next to it.
[color=brown]Conditional Fail[/color]: This application is more likely not to work.
[color=red]Failed[/color]: There is nothing that can be done to make this game run under the Vista operating system. Sorry.
"Fatal Relations" -- [color=green]Vista Compatibility: PASS[/color]
No major discrepancies. At the start, do not click when you see your mouse icon change to the working symbol. It will say the application is not responding. It is, just click Wait For Program To Respond.
"Love Potion" -- [color=green]Vista Compatibility: PASS[/color]
No discrepancies.
"Anime Poker Rei" -- [color=green]Vista Compatibility: PASS[/color]
No discrepancies.
"Rock Paper Scissors" -- [color=green]Vista Compatibility: PASS[/color]
No discrepancies.
"Tic Tac Toe" -- [color=green]Vista Compatibility: PASS[/color]
No discrepancies.
"Stealing Funny" -- [color=green]Vista Compatibility: PASS[/color]
No discrepancies. Japanese, therefore useless to me, but you can mindlessly click should you choose.
"Rance" -- [color=green]Vista Compatibility: PASS[/color]
No discrepancies. Japanese.
"Rance 2" -- [color=green]Vista Compatibility: PASS[/color]
No discrepancies. Japanese.
"Little Vampire" -- [color=green]Vista Compatibility: PASS[/color]
No discrepancies. Japanese.
"Hunt a Girl" -- [color=green]Vista Compatibility: PASS[/color]
No discrepancies. Japanese.
"Anime Poker Valkyrie" -- [color=green]Vista Compatibility: PASS[/color]
No discrepancies.
"Sentimental Shooting" -- [color=darkblue]Vista Compatibility: Conditional Pass[/color] -- Odd CPU charts
On quit, checking my CPU graph for no reason, I noticed both 3Ghz cores were at 100% usage and dropped to 3% on quit. This may be standard, and it's just waisting CPU cycles, but I don't know, as I'm not interesting in firing up another computer to check. Game is otherwise fine on default settings.
"Sinan" -- [color=darkblue]Vista Compatibility: Conditional Pass[/color] -- Understand Japanese Requirement, No Workaround
This game will run natively in Vista. The text support is not native, so you must run it with AppLocale if you can read Japanese. There is a question at the start of the game that needs a correct answer that no-one knows, so it's pretty useless.
"Immoral Study 1" -- [color=brown]Vista Compatibility: Conditional Fail[/color] -- Occasional Random Launch
This game was just plain irritating. I remember tinkering with it on XP and getting a 20% launch rate. I fiddled with application paths and audio etc and did not achieve a stable result. This game will launch when it wants, if it wants. There appears to be no true way to get it working perfectly. Download, but be prepared for it not to work. I'll just play it on my 98SE machine, thanks.
"Ringout" -- [color=red]Vista Compatibility: FAILED[/color]
After correctly applying the registry data for English (and going as far to modify the paths to D:\Hentai\Games\Ringout\ rather than .\, running directory) and testing it, I came up with my desktop and no application. It's in my process list, but is doing nothing. If I run without the Settings set to 256 Colors it asks me if I would like to change, but does nothing from there.
"Paradise Heights 1" -- [color=red]Vista Compatibility: FAILED[/color]
Nothing. I did, however, make a workaround for installing. When you get the game, the instructions are "Make sure the folder with the game inside is in your C:/ directory." You don't have to do this, and you can put the folder wherever you wish if you run a registry key I made. =D Download from here! <- This will take effect on all OS's, but will only be of use to 95 - XP users.
"Paradise Heights 2" -- [color=red]Vista Compatibility: FAILED[/color]
It's identical to PH1. Go out and buy a 98SE PC for this stuff.
"Princess Maker 2" -- [color=red]Vista Compatibility: FAILED[/color]
Just a casual not-working application. No modes work with it.

I used this program called 'dosbox' to run Princess Maker 2, and it's going on well.
Of course, as the name shows, Princess Maker 2 of Dos ver. works using this.

yep. I'm using the same method to currently play season of sakura. I'm currently using XP... i wonder about paradise heights... does is work the same pattern as the rest of the oldies games like season of sakura?
also, the DL link for paradies heights is a no go >_<.
