I've been trying to stay away from MMORPGs because of the countless hours I've spent on them just mindlessly grinding. I've been bored lately and this game looks interesting, but I have 2 questions for you.
1. How much grinding do you have to do? (to me grinding includes quests that tell you to kill a ton of monsters for little reward)
2. If you have played Silk Road Online, which would you say is better?
Well, I wont lie, there is a lot of grinding involved. But, the game doesn't truly start until lvl 90 so they made it so that you can get to 90 as quickly as possible with a few cool features to help with this, such as:
1. A bot feature that actually isn't illegal. Normally I would look down on this, but I've found myself using it a couple of times for long grinds/farming when I went afk or had to leave. You can customize it to attack only quest mobs and such.
2. The Meditation thing I covered in the OP.
3. A buff you can acquire once a day from the starting NPC called "God's Gift." It gives you double XP for 2 hours, and increased ATK and DEF for 8 hours. You can only use this until lvl 90.
4. One of the clan skills is to allow all online clan members to share experience. Level 1 of the skill is only 1%, so maybe about 30xp every 2-5mins, so not much. But you can do quests to upgrade this (involves turning in certain items depending on the skills level.) It upgrades by 0.5% every level, so 1% > 1.5% > 2% ect.
Also, between Jade Dynasty and Silk Road Online. I personally have to say I MUCH prefer Jade Dynasty. The only free MMORPG I would say is close to Jade Dynasty is Perfect World. This is only my personal opinion though.
