Before the switch in the brackets, I've been trying to contact BladeZero on this for a week, and he never replied back. I even asked his teammates who all just said "But he's on everyday."
on another note, can team leaders please idle in the FAKKU groupchat in LoL? If you dont know what i'm talking about ask here or send me a message and i'll explain/walk you through it.
After a long thinking process I have decided to cancel this tournament. I know this sucks and i'm sure, you who have made this possible (aien, Ishihara, etc) will be disapointed. But I have run out of time to be taking care of this and it seems most of the people have forgotten about this or lost interest.
But from this I have learned a lot, which will help in future event. Here's a the list:
- Do not organize alone : Next time, I won't be doing this by myself.
- No more team games: This seems to be the major part of the problem. With real life, and just the nature of the site, lots of trouble came from this. Future games will be single player.
- Set tournament time: An other huge problem: this tournament was not set on a time schedual when the sign up came up. Next tournament will have a shedual week-end. So that, if you sign up, ALL the matches will be done with in the 2-3 days that was told. This will make things go much faster and smoother. If you can't show up, too bad, you lost. The tournament was on the 20th, and you knew prior to signing up (this being an example)
- Easier sign-up: One thing that I put way too complicated was the sign-up. Thing should be easier next time.
- Better communication: Since the next event will most likely being 1v1 & on a set schedual communication will be easier. And also giving 1/2 of the job to to someone else, will ease the pain.
Thank to everyone who tried to make this happen, but I'm going to make the cruel call of cancelling this tournament. We tried.
I don't know when i'll attempt to make an other one. But since i just started a new job I don't have much time. hopefully though, some people will rise to take the challenge. Trust me, it ain't that easy
solomid has organized several 1v1 tournies in the past you can take a look at those for reference. Clock tower gaming (i think) also had King of hill. Where it would be 1v1 against the current king and who ever is the king at the end of a set date wins. unR zignature won that one.
