For me though, the whole screen thing doesnt look bad at all(maybe coz my laptops screen has a 16:9 ratio?).
EDIT: Hmm, it doesnt work for G Senjou and Kara no Shoujo though... :(
I would be surprised no stretching is done. most of the vn's I know( if not all) are made to be 4:3. I myself use a laptop with 16:10. If this doesn't work, then the game itself decides whether to stretch or not, and in most cases they do not. I do remember some of them having settings that allows to usage (or not) of software emulation( example is some of alicesoft's games, I think). I might find a way to dodge this, but since I'm not a fan of stretching screens, I don't think I'll even try.

Could you post pictures of it? I randomly clicked till I found something about changing the size of the screen from 96pp to 120pp
Is that it?
I don't think you have the right settings. I don't even have a clue what your 96pp or 120pp means. What you're looking for is the hardware handling of screen resolutions below the native resolution of your screen. My previous "guide" should be staightforward if u have the latest nvidia drivers, it should be exactly like I told you. If u have an ATI-graphics card, well I really can't help u much. Not a fan of ATI myself, but you should find similar settings, unless they disabled your access to the option.
