*falls to knees*
its true! I tried to cheat the system by not using applocale! Ive used it now and it looks to be installing successfully.
thanks!
Good luck with the rest of the installing then.
Yeh I have a new problem now. I like to think I have enough common sense to handle this sort of thing myself (with the exception of the applocale thing where pics indicated that other people were running it in applocale but still had the problem, so I presume they weren't running in admin mode which would fix the problem).
Now that the game is installed...how do I play the english version? I would assume that I would need to extract the english patch inside the file location of where the game is installed, but it comes up with an error. I have also tried manually extracting the files in to this location but it comes up with the error 'Unable to find config'. When it doesnt come up with this error, it keeps asking to insert disc 2 regardless of whether disk 2 is mounted or not. Due ot this I've had to uninstall and reinstall everything, and I'm at a loss of what to do.
Don't know what to tell you about that one, I'm pretty sure I've seen others with that unable to find config problem but I never read what the answer was to it.
thanks for the fast response. Well I've tried different things without actually changing anything and it seems to be working now. I don't think I have done the right thing because I have to do quite ab it just to start up the game but at least its working now.
So guess I'm all good [for] now. They only thing it seems I've done differently is that I have disc 1 mounted and I've opened the japanese title of the game using applocale, although I'd be surprised if I seriously hadn't tried that the first time round...so maybe I either mounted the wrong disc by accident or I forgot to mount something at all. Although this makes me question what the point of the majiko.exe file is for (I assume thats for quick starting without having to use the locale right? cuz thats the one that keeps asking to insert disc 2)
edit: 'kay well now something different is happening to the new majikoi.exe file (although since I can get the game to work this shouldnt matter but the how logic behind this confuses me). Now the regular majikoi.exe will open regardless of which disc is moutned, but applocale needs to be run first, but that still makes me question its existance. Are we suppose to just set an applocale shortcut or was that .exe file meant to bypass it?
In anycase its all fine now, I can just set an applocale shortcut to bypass it anyway. I'd edit this post to say what I've done, but for whatever reason I can't type properly on these forums, the scrollabr goes haywire.
also, just from starting the game up and hitting 'end game' a few times just to see if it works.....I take it this game is suppose to be quite quirky? lol
