I am a hardcore Guilty Gear player
i find it absolutely fucking hilarious that you happen to say something like this, given the fact that ASW did the SAME FUCKING THING with Guilty Gear.
Guilty Gear X > Guilty Gear X Plus
Guilty Gear XX > Guilty Gear XX #Reload [which had TWO versions but few people know this] > Guilty Gear XX Slash > Guilty Gear XX Accent Core
which were all separate releases that came out roughly a year after one another. And now the same thing goes on with Blazblue. [Calamity Trigger, Continuum Shift, Continuum Shift II].
Its not like this kinda stuff just started happening. Its been going on since the days of Street Fighter II, and honestly, with FEW exceptions, pretty much every fighting game thats been worth its weight has had new versions for balance along the line.
also for the record, however SSFIV turned out or not, AE still needed changes in editions for the fact that releasing the same game in arcades AFTER a console release is ass backwards and does absolutely nothing.
I bet that took alot of your precious time sitting in wikipedia to get that but, being a hardcore player is not only about buying every goddam* release, i was only buying the ones that really mattered to me which are: GG GGX GGXX SLASH GGXXAC Plus.
And Blazblue is just a f*cking disgrace of a game, but i don't really want to go into details on that in here.
I am guilty of the same sin though as most of the fighting game community, as i buy every SNK game which is out. But not for competetive reasons, their games have a certain appeal which i'm unable to understand/explain. Even brought KoF12 knowing it was a total trash in the series and had just as much fun in it as in every other SNK game. But unlike people who whine about each new *Super* rerelease and still buy it, i'm happy to see every new SNK game.
