Mass Effect 2

The worst part is that only Legion and Miranda weren't Loyal,

You know, steam is great but it really pisses me off sometimes.

I pre-ordered ME2 the first day you were able to, and pre-loaded it the first day, too.

Well, ME2 wasn't starting the day it was released so what's the problem? Ohh... it looks like steam didn't include 3 .dll's with the preload. Looks like I have to spend another 12 days downloading this game again... (and dont give me that "Oh you shoulda torrented it early before it came out like I did" bullshit)

I've been looking forward to this game more than anything, I loved the first game so much and I have still yet to play the 2nd one, but Ive technically owned it for a couple weeks now...

Fuck.

Oh well, everyone in here says the game is amazing so I guess it'll be that much better when I play....

Playing it now.. As a huge fan of the original, honestly, I'm gonna have to say 'meh' - and that says a lot if you recall ME1 being my favorite game of all time. It's not that it's bad it's just I feel like they've dumbed it down gameplay wise and the story seems like a kick in the balls throwing the old characters away and just having everyone 'ignore the reapers'. The old characters may or may return I don't know I'm only up to the krogan mission. Let me say this now, my opinions not final, but so far, meh.

Bought it today after class. Pretty fun so far.

What fight between Miranda and Jack?... well I guess that Bioware was true to their word when they said no 2 players will experience the same thing.



How can you say.. no, how dare you say they're not focusing on the Reapers in this one... the story is even more related to them than in ME1, but I guess you'll find that out as you progress deeper into the game.

And they're not throwing away the characters from the 1st game... 2 of them join your squad, while the others are minding their own business after Shepard's 2 year absence, and they even give you some missions. And Bioware has stated that all characters will be in ME3 and each will have their role in the plot.... you will even be able to continue your romance with a ME1 character in ME3 if you so choose.

And gameplay-wise, I think ME2 is better because it's a bit more fast-paced than ME1, but overall it's like the first one with a few improvements and some new tweaks.

I have a question regard team mates:Is Legion avilable for you party?

I enjoyed the first one very much. But honestly, this is far better game. The graphics are much better, the gameplay is sharper and more exciting and there are none of those redundant side missions where it's go ______ go here, kill ________.

I do feel that story in the first game is more interesting. But the characters in ME2 are more fascinating.

If you wanted ME2 to be like Gears of War, sure.

Just finished it now, everyone survived and I'm definitely going to be playing through it multiple times. One thing does bug me though

Oh god, I loved the game, the story was really good and the sound and graphics too! Early contender for GOTY 2010!

A lot has been made of this. I didn't have a problem with it, personally; quite a novel way to cover the loading times, and the news on the radio to remind you what you did before you saved. :P

Side note, I really fucking want this game. Frustrating having such a good year for releases and having to save for a convention, among the more mundane things.

Beat it for the first time. Took me 24 hours total, lol.



Now to play through again and go renegade this time.
