To be honest i'm still downloading the game but that's because the english patch for Sumika and Meiya routes(Extra) have just been translated.

What Muv-Luv is about :
This game consists of two parts: Muv-Luv Extra and Muv-Luv Unlimited. Unlimited is unlocked after you get the endings of the two main heroines (Sumika and Meiya) in Extra.
Muv-Luv Extra:
Shirogane Takeru is a typical high school student with a lazy attitude and a love for the virtual reality mecha battle game Valgern-on. Even though he didn't really wanted it, he is popular in school mainly due to his daily fights with his osananajimi (Sumika) attracting too much attention. His life takes an unexpected turn when he finds a girl (Meiya) he doesn't remember ever meeting in his bed one morning. Whom later revealed to be the heiress of one of the biggest zaibatsu. She immediately moves to his house and starts changing his life for the good with her one-track-mind and unlimited resources...
Muv-Luv Extra, the main part of Muv-Luv, takes place in the same world (and general area) as Kimi ga Nozomu Eien and Kimi ga Ita Kisetsu. The Sky Temple family restaurant is mentioned and visited, and Suzumiya Akane makes an appearance.

Not seeing any signs of them he gets a bit worried and goes out of his house to only see the town he lived all his life in ruins. If it's just about extra,
In EXTRA it's your daily light-hearted high school love life comedy filled VN, very interesting and funny throughout EXTRA, :p. The high usage of sprites make the VN very lively.

Somehow I kinda felt that you shouldnt play Extra first before Unlimited is done, as after you play Extra, you should continue Unlimited straight away, waiting a few months later kinda ruins the build up from Extra?....but thats just me.
The main story consist of Extra, Unlimited, and Alternative(seperate game). One of those awesome VNs that must be played untill the end, especially Alternative.

Well if you say so, i don't mind waiting a couple months if it's to fully enjoy the game. It's just that it looked so awesome i wanted to try it out now :P.

Didn't see any MuvLuv topics a few pages back. If there is one for Alternative, or just all three plots then a link would be appreasiated.
Anywho.
I just finished it and my only thoughts are; I want to keep going as if its MuvLuv Extra again. <_>

There is a sequel/continuation of it. MuvLuv Altered Fable http://vndb.org/v405 No tl though and I kinda doubt there will be one.

Honestly just finished Meiya's route and the effects really are good! Its like watching a pseudo anime, its fun :).

I think they want to release MuvLuv Alternative. Dunno if they will do the same for Extra/Unlimited, but it would make sense seeing how much plot of Alternative relies on Unlimited in the beginning.
The Amaterasu did mention age also wants to release Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien, which is somewhat related to Extra (albeit marginally), and whose heroines play part in Alternative.
Speaking of which, did anyone else find MuvLuv's mecha design absolutely, positively awesome?
I can't recall seeing as good-looking mech as Takemikazuchi or Raptor any time recently.

^I for one do find them awesome, especially the variations from Total Eclipse. I especially love the Shiranui Ni-gata.

Speaking of Eclipse, I wonder if age would be willing to translate all the side-works for MuvLuv verse they're coming out with - the said Eclipse, Euro Front, Operation Zero, After the End etc.
Since it would be totally awesome. Especially since a lot of the show a wider scope of BETA-infested world, and at least one is set in post-Alternative V world that follows Unlimited.

Pretty much this is the reason, people just simply doesn't know. And the whole idea of the front page routine was after the release of the Translation for Alternative.
Maybe I'll make a reminder front page, but I do remember that "officially" they don't allow the patch again since the Age Project, so I'm kinds mixed up at that part.

True! Like me for example, I just found out that there is a full patch of alternative just a few hours ago so Im striving to DL the whole thing ASAP.

Yeah, it's a shame that so many people have no idea what it is. I know about only due to courtesy of one very special friend who shared it with me saying "trust me, you'll enjoy it".
Speaking of which, a new MuvLuv VN, based off Total Eclipse is being worked upon, apparently. And according to hearsay, age has plan to outdo Zambot 3's killcount.
