Nintendo presented a new Nintendo Direct. Here's the highlights:
1) A new revision of the 3DS, the
3DS XL, will be launched on August 19 alongside New Super Mario Bros. 2. It will retail for $199.99. Sadly, there isn't a second joypad in it, which I found strange but understandable.
2) Kingdom Hearts Demo available now in the eShop.
3) They'll be launching 2 Virtual console games per week. This will happen from July 5th to August 1st. Among those that will be presented will be Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 and Kirby's Pinball Land. Here's the
list for most of them. Also, Super Mario Land will be on sale from now to the end of June for those interested. I think it will be $2.99.
4) Fire Emblem will come out next year. Expected but it's nice that we got a confirmation.
5) Pokemon Black/White 2 will arrive on the fall. 3DS owners will have the ability to capture Pokemon using the 3DS camera. They are practically using the AR technology to do this. Also, there will be some "normally hard to catch and legendary Pokemon" available through that feature.
6) Kirby 20th anniversary collection will arrive on September.
7) Super Smash Brothers will be developed by Namco Bandai, though Masahiro Sakurai will still be the Creative Director.
8) Profesor Layton and the Mask of Miracle for 3DS confirmed for a November release. They will be a new puzzle each day for a year as free DLC.
I think that's all of it.
Edit: Oh yeah, according to that link I posted above, the 3DS XL won't come with a AC adapter. The reason? to cut cost since the old AC adapter works on it. If true, that will be the most retarded decision they have come across. I'll think of it as false till is completely confirmed.
